4 mech weight classes. each should ideally be 25 percent of the lineup for matchmaker. How about for each percent under 25 your category is you get 1 percent increase in Cbills earned? IE lights at 10 percent, you get a 15 percent earnings increase? It would even up the useage, speed matches, make people happy due to cbills, and enforce something like RnR because lighter mechs will usually have more bonus cbills.

I'm not sure if this is the answer, but I like the way you think! All week I have been running Mediums when what I really want to do is earn XP in my Mad Dogs.......But I never see the Heavy class fall below 45% and most often it is above 50%.

Some kind of incentive for people to represent the classes a bit more evenly would be awesome.

So wait... If I happen to be the only light mech that drops in a group of mostly Assaults and a few heavies, not only is my team already weighted to win, but I get a 16.6% BONUS for just showing up? HECK yeah! I'm all over that.

You do realize that your idea would only ENCOURAGE unbalanced teams right?

For YOU it's awesome getting that 16% bonus. The rest of your team doesn't though, so how does that encourage them to all queue up heavies and assaults any more than they do now? It means there's a benefit for queuing with a less used weight class. If people continue to bring heavies and assaults primarily, then the lights and mediums continue to get bonuses.

Obviously, balancing 'mechs so that a light or medium is not a handicap would be nice, but until then, I would not mind this fix at all.

They are adding more rewards like spotting/tag narc bonuses. I'm talking about a change to the actual calculus.

Could even award greater rewards for the less used mechs, though I cant think of a reward big enough for the Locust :P

Piloting a locust is reward enough.

Well, they are going to incentivize lights & mediums soon. Let's see how that goes.

I did have a similar thought, though, although technically if the scheme works then it is self-defeating when the queues even themselves up and the bonus dries up.

i honestly cant see where lights and mediums are handicapped.

my cicada, raven or trebuchet do well in all these times. even when i bring the trial spider out its far from handicapped.

Bad pilots make bad decisions. Why pilot a Locust when you could be in a Jenner or Firestarter under the current system?

Make ppl be cannon fudder and just give them tiny 10% more cbills seems legit. I agree killing lights is alot fun.

Game needs more cannon fudder.


If you ask me seriously, pgi has to rethink the role of especially lights. If we wouldve role warfare and not just only ridiculous ecm, lights would make more sence
