I'm a fairly new player, and sure I imagine this is something I can merely learn to compensate for but...Why no rear view? you know just a handy little monitor on my screen interface showing me what's behind me, a wall, a mech, a sheer drop that will get me killed.
It seems like an oversight given nearly EVERY vehicle in the world uses this basic functionality. You can't tell me this isn't something mechs would feature cause it'd be stupid not to.
Just a nice little screen where one usually finds a mirror, showing what's behind.

Been asked for a lot, not happening due to CryEngine limitations. It basically forces the client to render two completely different scenes, and we have enough performance problems as it stands.
Then its both an engine limitations (too many Draw calls) and performance/fairness - if it only worked for people with very beefy systems, It'd hardly be fair.

Just a wireframe view would be nice.

perhaps a parking beep like you get on cars.
hit reverse and it starts to beep. the beeps get closer together as you get closer to a object.
we could play at being trucks reversing.

as much as I despise mw 4 it did have a good way of showing what was behind you, though you couldn't use weapons and all you could see is behind you.. wouldn't that be fairly easy to imperilment?

We have sismic sensor, the minimap, a brain, teamate who press R ( when they have a brain ) and you can side torso.

being able to see behind you helps to see where the attacks are coming from when you are getting shot in the back and will help out a lot.

This would help snipers a lot...I can't count the number of times someone decides to park right behind me when I poke out to snipe...and then get blasted with return fire because I can't reverse back to my cover.

What this guy said. It's easy enough to track all of these things simply with map awareness. Not having a rear view increases the value of an ECM, and also the value of playing with your team.
