The old UI (even half screen) was better than this pos....but at least we know why it was so bad. I'm sorry you didn't have any solid efforts devoted to fixing it but how about we just roll back the last one?
The old one showed where your guns where and when you put stuff on that part of the torso you could see where the torso started and stopped (terrible feature to remove).
