Question: What new items would you be 100% sure to buy if they added them?

Greetings,

If you wanted something that would probably be 'wanted' by quite a few MWO players, PGI would need to acquire a 'physical merchandise' licence also. (a very expensive proposition)

Once that has been completed, the whole world opens for what within MWO could be offered.

- A physical copy of some of the Mech artwork, poster size or at least 11 by 17 would be a collectable item.
- Physical concept art from 'Alex', signed. Most desirable.
- T-shirts with MWO themes or Mech art, seen a bit through NGNG site, but not true MWO designs.
- High quality Faction Patch's and BattleTech related cloth patch's. (last time we saw any of this was 15yrs ago.)

Sadly that licence is held by a company we will not mention. And not being used to it's potential.

(Update: as a note here, there are 4K resolution images of the Mech's available. Never offered, buy they do exist.)

Same thing I asked for in 2012.

Custom mech parts, aka body mods. Decals. Hats for my mechs. Things like that.

On the physical side of things, I'd buy a Founder's Catapult. Barring that, a C1 CPLT.

Yeah, I love that mech and I wish I played it more.

On the non-physical...

I'd have to say I'd consider decals (we need them anyway for CW). I haven't been doing much in the way of playing dress up with my mechs, admittedly, so I'm not sure.

Great question.

I would pay for this:
  • Any CPLT variant with a nose like the Founder CPLT. I'm still bitter they didn't give that nose to the Jester. I would have paid $50 for that, without any regrets.
  • Summerset package. Mauler, Bushwacker, Wolfhound, Axman. With or without actual melee ability.
  • Single player campaign
  • Co-op swarm survival game mode
  • Solaris game mode
  • Stock mech game mode

  • Deeper customization in cockpits.

  • Moar IS 'Mech packs. Yes, really. I missed out on the previous ones and I'd love to see something like a Summerset package (as per Alistair above).

  • Mech decals.

  • Custom Betty voices and UI styles.

  • 'Body mods', but subtle ones. Like the Atlas' glowing eyes, or different shields for the Centurion.

  • Moar consumables. Elementals and tanks FTW!

  • Perhaps paying for access to a Solaris style arena mode? It'd balance the ability to bet and win/lose C-Bills on matches.

I would pay MC, for a rearview mirror.

And as Auswarrior said, different voices for Betty.

Also, Faction HUDs. For example, a Red and Black HUD using Kanji (did I spell that right?) For Kuritans, or a Jade Green HUD for the Turkeys.

i'd go for some body-kits. custom geometry kits and body parts would probably sell rather well. even make the founders mechs have these "parts" so they can customize them to their hearts content.
-spiky mohawks, skull and crossbones welded on to the chassis, B.A. looking stuff like that
-alternate shield arms for the mechs with obvious "shields" (Cent, Raven 2x, Cicada) or protusions (awesome arm shoulder cover things, etc)
-antenna/sensor packs
-alternate weapon hardpoint looks (give the Beefy PPC tubes back to the K2)

also: different textures on top of paint colors.,a damaged texture to make it look like the dang thing has been through some major battles and hot-glued back together and shoved to the front lines again. or alternatively, being able to buy "shiny" ala the Arrow and Hellslinger

I want colors that are exactly like the colors we already have only half the normal price and %25 the normal price during sales.
I want patters that are exactly like the patterns we already have, only once your paint crew owns the stencils you can use them on any mech.
I wan't patterns that are exactly like the patterns we already have, only I can use them on my favorite mechs: Founders and Phoenix mechs.
I want premium time that gives the same bonus it does now, but that is only used when I am playing mwo.

:P

I know I know, not going to happen right? That's fine, I don't HAVE to spend any more money on this game :P

Not sure if you're serious but if PGI ever put anything like that in the game they better make it so i don't have to look at them. That would make me instantly quit.

I'd happily buy some kind of "reseen" mech pack including reworked versions of the lost classics of the early Battledroids/Battletech era. Who wouldn't love a Warhammer or Marauder? How about the Rifleman, Archer, Crusader, Phoenix Hawk, or Stinger/Wasp? I know there are complications but I wouldn't care if there appearance has to be altered, I'd buy em for the names and game stats.

I'd also be interested in some House/Clan specific camo's. Hell it'd be cool to be able to buy camo's for the bigger lore based mercenary units also. But I hate the idea of buying camo's for a chassis type, they'd need to work like the clan polygon camo or the phoenix pack flames camo. The type that let you use the camo on any appropriate chassis. These new camo's should give the mechs a more militaristic appearance with unit symbols and markings.

There are some good ideas above, but these two items I'd purchase immediately if they became available.

I can't think of much else they can sell me. But, I can think of several things they can do, that I would be willing to make a donation to see it happen.

I would buy a really nice coop campaign with varying objectives every time we played to ensure it never really got old or boring. Also, a Map and mission editor so us the players could make said missions to ensure endless replay value for this game...I would pay alot more money then I currently have for one of those....that might be worth a $500 gold mech price....

Most of us have already paid hundreds of dollars. PGI becoming "successful" should be through increased popularity and a much larger playerbase.

The only thing that PGI should be focusing upon is CW - the fact that it is so abundantly clear that they are spending their Dev Hours on other things, including releasing yet more mechs, shows that PGI just doesn't get it... oh and the playerbase, such as the OP, doesn't get it either.
