High five elo.

hahaha, you're in my ELO bracket.

Pretty much, how these generally go is the top tier players tank their own ELO (Lose on purpose a bunch) and then try to steamroll through the lower brackets. We're near the middle from what I can tell. This will be ELO Hell.

These top tier players you speak of have no need for such tricks.

I've never heard of anyone who does that, much less anyone actually top tier.

Wouldn't it take forever to make an established account tank in ELO anyways?

That wouldn't make sense even if it were practical, which it isn't. I'm trying to think of a scenario where doing this would ever be more time-efficient than just playing the game, and I can't.

I got 9th place last leaderboard tourny, and I never threw a single match in attempts to lower my Elo.

"Tanking" your Elo would take hundreds of matches. Nobody does that. I love how these leaderboard challenges bring out the tin foil hats because people just can't admit to themselves that they're not as good as the best.

There is no need to tank you Elo, because the matchmaker is so inconsistent anyway you get really uneven matches every now and then that you can score big with.

Ok, let me refraise: There are some players who do this. It's been mentioned by a few folks on the forums.

I'm hoping that overall, yes, good players don't need to do that, but there are some who will TRY.

But how the hell do you explain the long ass loss streaks with just elo rating? Does it place the same elo players on the same team or something? So poor elo players are always on the same team, therefore you never get out of the **** ball elo hole, therefore, endlessly losing? Therefore, the game is always rigged to give you hte losing side? elo is ******** period anyway....it should just pick 12 mechs and go..12 mechs and go...

It's got nothing to do with that.

You can play the best 10 games in mechwarrior history, if you're paid up with a bunch of derps who cant play, it's all for nothing.

Yep, the top 10 guys in each weight class have been artificially lowering their ELO for weeks now, losing match after match, several hours per day, preparing themselves for this tournament with a 300 MC reward for 10th place.

For a $1,75 reward.

Next thread please.

Oh great, another event where it is entirely focused around the selfish play style of "everyone support me" not the team.

Dont act surprised

12-0 12-1 12-2 12-3 stomps are common in this junk matchmaking. One team has 3 direwolfs? ggz 1 afk? ggz, trials? ggz

SOLO challenges in a TEAM based game, [redact]ed. Please stop doing it.

Making kills worth MORE than assists, also, [redacted], don't do that ever again either.

Also NEVER have a solo challenge EVER again if you have a LONG OUTSTANDING IFF bug that causes teammates to not be able to identify you as a friendly. In their KILL IS WORTH MOAR frenzy, they won't stop to think if you really ARE an enemy.

Please make that IFF bug go away SOON. If there's ONE extremely frustrating thing about this game that will cause me to go off in chat more than anything else it's being accidentally TK'd by a friendly because he can't see that I'm on his team...

I always think the tournaments are going to be fun, and then I remember that tournament weekends mean every game having several Lords spamming ggclose and being arrogant immediately followed by artillery shells falling like snowflakes on Frozen City.

Pretty brutal start for me as well tonight. Struggling to get wins even if I do well personally. Everyone trying to do well individually makes supporting you team secondary until to late. Nature of the beast in a challenge like this and I am not innocent of it either.

I do not care about the leaderboard per say, not doing it for that really. Just going to make some cbills and move on. Do not have the time to grind all weekend.

Crazy how many similar unit tags end up in some matches. Guess that is just luck of the draw to see multiples from a unit in a match on either side.
