I'm at my wits end. I live less then 2 hours south of Toronto and for over a year my ping has always been between 40-50. Now it's always around 100? What's going on lately?

Could be any number of things. Anything along the route between you and PGI's servers - it's not like you get a direct connection, after all. Maybe your ISP just changed it's peering arrangements and now traffic between you and PGI's servers takes a longer route than it used to.

I noticed the same thing. Not that my current 100 Ping is terrible, but I used to get 50-60 and I'm noticing more hitreg issues now. I'm assuming it has to do with the datacenter change.

Same thing happened to me, was 45-50 and has become 90-100. Dunno, maybeTime Warner is just upset at me for doing so much 'meching.

It would be the datacenter change and your ISP is taking an absolutely terrible path to get to the new center. Mine is, as well. I'm not sure why it's hopping from South Dakota (my ISP is headquartered here) to California and then over to Quebec, but that's a damn terrible route no matter how you look at it. And that center in California is the culprit, not sure what problems they have there.

Thanks for the responses. I'm pretty good with computers but never tried to figure out how my internet provider routes my traffic. What is an easy way to find out how Time Warner is sending my traffic from Western New York to the server? The original server was in Toronto right? I always had between 40-50 ping since the end of closed beta. The game seems to play ok, but Im annoyed with my now constant ping around 100.

Thanks

Pretty odd. I live in the north of Sweden and have had a constant ping of 130 for the last year, so 100 in ping if you live two hours south of Toronto is pretty terrible.

My ping is doing something odd. During the daytime hours it is 32. In the evening it is 70+. It isn't that there is more traffic in the evening as I've checked my ping to other games and servers and it remains constant there, but something in the new data center change bumps my ping up every evening. Maybe they switch something over for prime time U.S.? My ping was a steady always 30-40 ping since MWO started.
