Was slated for a Steep Week, but that R9 280 bit me on the nose. Then that PSU came along for only $9 extra: Combined with the case, you ought'a be able to do much bigger things, down the road …

I'm gambling this case will flow OK, with only a far amount of empty grill near the Zalman; That it was of a theme with the cheapest GTX 960 (picked to shrink the PSU) is gravy …

I put togeather a machine that has no issues running mwo at 140 fps or more everything set to high, I keep it locked to 60 fps cause the display doesn't do any better than that so don't see a point in heating things up for no reason...

i7 5820k 6 core 12 thread
gigabyte x99 ud4 mb
12gb ddr4 balistix sport
geforce 670 2gb
win 7 ultimate 64bit (dont like 10 got that on my laptop tough)
swiftech h220-x expandable cooler (cooling cpu and gpu)
and a cooler master case wanna say was a n100 or something like that can hold 2 x 240mm rads and a 120mm rad.
all and all think I spent about 1k on it, saveing up for more ram and a 1tb ssd at the moment. mb will handle 64gb ddr4 but ill prolly only go 16gb for the moment then try t add in another 32gb later in 8gb dims

Despite being Cheap/ Weak, 100MHz for ~$8 sounds like "win" to me; I spent ~$20 to take ~15W out'a the card, but then this PSU bit me on the nose, when all I needed was 371W. Even then, I'm once again bending the "PSU Review" rule, as I see Johnny Guru liked the 550W model (the price comment no-longer counts,) but I didn't really see a review for this version …

The bad news is how hot this case is going to get, with only one such fan, and a stock, down-draft cooler: Not everyone you meet will think it's great fun to rig up some cardstock ductwork …

I'm way out on a limb, here, that a mere GTX 960 can find the horsepower to use Dynamic Super Resolution, but would require moar than 2GB to do so. (Also: Some of the high-profile chokes we've seen lately seem to be about "on only 2GB.")

Last time I saw a review of a Cooler Master cooler, it was reported they where now shipping with Scythe grease: I'm gambling that's system wide.

There's an EVGA 750 Gold out there for the same price as this Corsair, but that's too big, any way you look at it.

Y'all do understand how much fun rebates can be, when you read these posts, right?

Sooooo I'm cheating on the PSU, again: I'd need another 11W if the CPU would overclock all the way to 5GHz/ 1.51V. Scrub off 200MHz, and you sneak in, under the wire, with no room for expansion.

But, I've got this big-arse card … On a Bronze Plus PSU …

With a GTX 960, you only need ~601W, but I didn't go looking for mere Bronze Plus PSUs that size: I always had a Gold for that mock-up, so the buy-in cost more.

And this case really needs an intake fan, ether way …

$10 extra gets you a GTX 'stead of an R7, which in turn shrinks the PSU.

$10 extra to step "up" from an R7 270; $3 extra for the RAM; $14 for the third terabyte on the disk; There was a mystery-meat PSU at every dollar point, from $25 up to this beauty, even looking for only 370W; And I think I spent $2 to avoid a window on this case, with it's one exhaust fan, next to open roof grill …

Teh Thermalright and Spotcool cost ~$4 more then the Zalman that has become my habit; There are Rosewill Challengers to be had for ~$12 less then this HAF 912, but arguments can be made …

I'm hoping this case is up to cooling this CPU, but I believe by choosing a cross-flow/ birdcage graphics card, I can get away with the 212 EVO; Faster 980 Tis' with the same cooling cost $50 more, but there was another Zotac with axial fans for ~$20, but the CPU temps would suffer, ergo it's overclock, so you go looking for a Thermalright TrueSpirit-140, and a bigger case to hold it, etc., etc., etc., drek, etc.
