I really wish PGI would've stuck with TRO 3025 before moving on to Double Heat Sinks, XL Engines... and the Clan Invasion. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now...

you and me both.
For one thing, had they actualyl taken the time to balance level 1 tech, then lock it as a baseline? We wouldn't have near the yoyo balance issues we have in this game, as there would be a set known to balance any new mechanics and gear around.
But when your baseline is as solid as a limp noodle? (and you add bad choices for aiming mechanics and heat) you get the mess we have today.

Even if they would implement it in the Tier system, with Tier 5 being restricted to Level 1 tech and Tier 1 having access to all tech...

The game is $60 on their website. I can print off record sheets for free at my school, the rules are pretty easy to find, and I already have a 3D printer with plenty of material for free through my school (engineering ftw). Plus, what Bishop said...

That's actually exactly why there's asterisks around them.

It's not exactly from TRO3025, but it's a Unseen 'Mech from the same era.
It would be a nice missile boat.
Plus, it uses the same leg assembly as the Warhammer and the Rifleman, so PGI would save costs on modelling.

Once the full set is complete I will post photos. I'm starting out with 32 from TRO 3025 (8 from each weight class), and I just started modelling the mediums.
Does anyone have suggestions for making/buying a hex map? I have a few from a different game that I can use for now but I'd like to have some Battletech-specific ones. ideally I'd like to have hex "blocks" out of some material so I can have different levels.

I think she could make a mean SRM brawler....

Yeah, but it's kind of complicated to get them and cleaning up the models would be a pain cause I'm not printing them too large so the details would be messy. Plus, half the mechs I want to make aren't in the game sadly.

That being said, I really, REALLY wish this game had stayed with IS mechs only. The inclusion of the Clans has introduced too much balancing woes that PGI is still trying to sort out. Staying more focused on IS tech would have been a much easier task to try and balance.
I suppose when you are a developer that needs new mechs to keep the income flowing, and you have a huge untapped pool of clan mechs, it was just too tempting to leave alone (especially when you can make them gold for some extra cash ).
