Alright so, finally decided to try dropping with my two friends again to see if the whole matchmaking 3/3/3/3 or 2/2/2/2/2/2 vs. 12 thing was fixed, proceeded to get in to 4 games in a row versus 10 or 12 man clans. So evidently, no the system hasn't been balanced at all and clans can continue to roflstomp people who just want to play a lance.
Is there any plans to fix this at any point at all? or is this forever going to be a game I cant play with a small group of friends unless I have 11 friends or drop solo. And no I don't like the idea of squads being matched up against PUGs either for other balance reasons.

As far as I know, they have not done anything to address this as yet... But are aware of it.

Yeah thats how the matchmaker works now small groups are simply cannon fodder and free wins for the 10 and 12 mans, if you dont drop solo or in a 12 man really no point in dropping if you'd like to maybe win a game and not lose 15 in a row.

Yeah, for a game that should in all technicality be fun to play with 1-2 people, its stopped me from playing with friends at all. So I just Pug it, and hope for the best.

There is a change coming in today's patch which is supposed to alleviate poorly-matches teams, specifically by changing the way we select game mode
currently, if there are two 12 mans in queue but they've selected different game modes, they'll never be matched against each other and boh will get matched against a possibly less desirable team (smaller team, larger Elo difference, etc etc)
Today's patch may include the new game mode selection which is a weighted randomized roll, which iams to reduce wait times and reduce poor matches (at the cost of exclusively choosing a game mode)
