Well... I guess this is an acceptable "get shot in real life" post. :P

What? Flu shot? Me?
No way, I would rather take my chances with the flu than run the risk of getting poisoned by one of those needles!
Sure, I enjoyed the freezing needles when I was getting my wisdom teeth pulled, but that was different!

Thank you for the advice, however I must decline.
I'm a gamer. I have no problem isolating myself from the public as a preventative measure to protect my health. Just as long as I don't run out of soda, chips, or a good game to play.

Better get an ebola shot while you're at it.

Assuming you mean ebola vaccine... ...I'd like to point out that those don't exist yet. Hopefully they will soon though.

The funny thing, getting a flu shot means they are injecting you with a tiny bit of the flu virus. And so you can actually spread it to those around you that haven't gotten a flu shot. Something to keep in mind!

A part of why - when they are encouraging it - they encourage everyone to get the shot.

The virus is dead in modern flu shots, live/impaired vaccines went the way of the dodo years ago. Not getting the shot makes you a likely transmission path for your friends/family. Don't be "that guy". Got mine yesterday early this year as several seasonal diseases have a headstart due to certain unusual immigration paths.

However, if you get it you may have a newer strain then what was used in the vaccine. Cold viruses mutate extremely fast and vaccines may not actually be effective.
