This would have taken a fraction of time if i had been using a non-LBX 20.

I wish we would get the true Clan versions of these with a toggle between slugs and shot.

I think a good majority of it was some rounds+MPLs hitting the Side torso, and then the damage transfer from ST to CT is halved I believe
Eg. 2nd to last LBX shot mabe did 10 dmg, or maybe it counted as ST dmg as it was falling off and then registered as 0 on a falling damaged component like it was a building.
That's about the only way I can see it being "working as intended", falling mech parts count as a barrier until they are on the ground.

Does not matter... It is a mech sized shotgun... Hail to the king baby.
Now that would be a fun video to make. A CTF with two of them.. a lot of humanoid mechs(armour reduced for on-screen efficiency ofc) in frankie camo... Halloween movie here we come.

Used in tandem with other weapons firing and HITTING a light's leg should rip it right off.
RESULT: Light Ran away still had armor on both legs
At 100 meters that shouldn't happen, oh well.
LBX-20 sitting on shelf.

LBX makes for terrible light leg killers.
LBX is used to destroy internal structure and equipment.

It may not be as good for scoring kills, but it does weaken targets very effectively anywhere in its effective range (360m). Think of it as a big, nasty SRM launcher.
Honestly I hope ammo switching never happens, because ballistics already have an edge as it is. If we can switch from spread to pinpoint ammo, then back again...

Except that if it had been a non-LBX AC the shots would have gone straight at the rear CT where i was aiming and he would be dead in two alphas.

Uh huh, so you think taking 8+ alphas to kill a target from full hp is better than two shotting it with massive pinpoint damage?
Which is why LBXs are more popular than boating ER PPCs, gauss and UACs right?
Let me know when competitive players start boating LBXs in tournaments.

As i mentioned... The only real problem is that it is a secondary weapon that weight in at a premium rate. It does what it is supposed to do. (and against lights and fast mediums it is pretty nasty) but no.. you are right.. a pin-poiny weapon does more pin-point damage. But otoh if you miss with that.. you miss. with this you can still score a hit and even rip a limp off with a half-hit.
Different weapons for different tasks and all that.

#1. The LBX in question was NOT used by itself.
#2. Damage calculated with the addtional weapons used FAR exceeds the armor of BOTH of said Light's legs.
Regardless of "LBX makes for terrible light leg killers." statement, damage is damage...
ALSO: LBX-20 does NOT seem to be much of an improvement over LBX-10, and it should.

Obviously not, but C-ACs do not have massive pinpoint damage. They are dakka lasers.
If you can keep the crosshair steady on a component for the whole burst, the (U)AC is going to be better every time. If not or you are trying to evade fire, sometimes it's better to do all 20 damage very quickly, as long as it lands somewhere.

Dual gauss is an abomination that should be put down, I'll give you that.
And critical damage is a joke that should not be considered when balancing weapons.
