This, from Karl Berg is the closest I can rememember ... Russ mentioned it in either an NGNG podcast or Town Hall meeting, as well (pretty sure it was the first town hall).

Ultimately, any "hard choices" will significantly affect the match maker, so, yes ... if you keep "any" selected, not only will you have a better cnance of finding a match more quickly, you will also have a better chance of getting placed in a good match.

I don't see the issue with this choice.

If you want randomized game play you can keep all 3 boxes checked.

But I play Assault I have played 5,707 matches. Current and archived. Since the patch I Had.

10 Conquest and 21 skirmish matches so ah I am very happy with the change.

Players should be allowed to chose the game mode they want to play. Maps are kept random so no one person can dominate one map at one time.

Classic First Person Shooter 101. If everyone knew they were playing Alpine next they would log in with long range mechs, and it would turn into sniper land.

There is no point in playing skirmish its just blob on blob warfare. And we proved that on Alpine map today when my whole team just sat on the hill and blew the enemy away.

There is no point in playing Conquest because the game ends long before anyone gets 750 resources.

With Assault at least there is a way to win you can rush the enemy base and capture it. It makes for interesting gameplay. Turrets do need improvement in AI script. The Spam clan LRM launchers need to go.
