Voting could be offered to the user during the client's patch screen pre-log in.

That way PGI would know for certain that any user who is playing was at least offered the option of voting in a poll.

Yep that would be a great thing to do.

Month ago like...when IGP was still there?
And in the last twitch Russ admited they made huge mistakes with the provided feedback.

Well there are two possibilities here...

Either IGP ordered PGI to not read their own PTS feedback threads....

Or PGI didnt read it for whatever reason (couldnt be bothered, etc, etc).

Given PGI's history, which do you think is more likely?

Sure, i see your point.
On the other hand: since IGP is gone a lot changed.
And is still changing.

Replace telling what to do with suggesting. This notion of us telling them what to do is getting out of hand. : /

To be honest, I'm going to continue to tell them to get CW functioning before looking at balance and MM threads. They continue to ignore me, which is why 2 years later we are still without CW. They are more than welcome to look back at CB forums and see me saying the exact same things: get CW functioning before worrying about balance and MM.

But the Community, and PGI, seem to enjoy wiping their butts before taking a dump. The Order matters.

What the vast majority of you do not seem to understand is that it wasn't simply a split vote. The consequences for each side were extremely different.

One group was facing the penalty of slightly longer wait time and an occasional ELO gap (not even going to mention that most people think ELO is BS)

The other group was being forced to play modes they hated.

In my case I bought the Dire Wolf package. Every time I dropped I got Conquest. I still won all the matches I played, but I hate chasing lights all over the map. Admittedly I am also a bit of an EC grinder and Conquest and Assualt can take a long time, while if you are aggressive Skirmish can be over in 5 minutes (and I play too aggressive for my own good). My preferred mech was simply unsuited to Conquest, yet most Assaults get sent to Conquest because NOONE signs up their Assault for Conquest voluntarily.

Plenty of other people think Skirmish is just a death ball and prefer a more measured chess match over a brawl. Most of those people were being forced to play Skirmish because they usually pilot lights for Conquest, yet few people want lights in Skirmish, so naturally that is where lights were being sent.

Conclusion, the negative consequences for one group greatly outweighed the positive consequences for the other group.

If forced to play with the forced game mode I would have retired my Dire Wolf. It is just too much of a pain to play in Conquest. I probably would have switched to the Jenner or Firestarter which is good in every game mode.

Uh, everytime the PTS server goes up, feedback is provided and nothing is done. Remember when people told PGI about the MM bugs months ago on the PTS server? And PGI's response was to completely ignore it, not even acknowledge the people posting about it, and then go live, to disastrous results?

Fix PGI and we will avoid problems like that.

This is why i dont even bother downloading it anymore....its a waste of my time and their resources. They dont often makes changes based on the fan base so why should i help? If PGI keeps the transparency up and actually uses input other then the NGNG crowd and Fanatic Fan boys they are currently using maybe i would be more inclined to give a hand. But right now i dont think they care or want the opinion of someone like myself. They just do what they see as the best course of action anyway even if it is a mistake and they must remove it and waste man power on it. Which is fine by me, just dont ask for my help then disregard the hours of time i spent playing, looking for bugs and emailing issues i find.

There is a issue at PGI, i started noticing they had a Quality Control issue a long time ago, the constant spelling errors in threads, in game descriptions, mech details, etc. are atrocious and show how little work actually goes into make these things. I get the idea that someone banged it out in 8 minutes before they left work for the weekend. Everything just seems rushed and unfinished always. The patches, Hotfixes, Other implementation seems to follow the same rushed work flow chart and end up being a junk Product/Change that is really just a waste of time and money for the players and more so the company.

Honestly, forget the PTS. The best feedback is community response to live. If you mess up, give a 1 day premium credit and roll it back, if not, move forward.

I was out partying, so missed the firestorm.

Absolutely ridiculous that they'd go through with something like it in the first place. Of course slow robots will quit out of conquest. Of course lights that drop on skirmish will suicide out of bounds.

And in the end, everybody had a bad time.

CW isn't going to work if the balance is one sided.

I think we needed a thread that involves telling PGI what they need to do to get the entire community to agree with next time.

Not that I'm shooting down your idea, but have you read these forums? This group would have trouble arriving at a consensus that the Earth is round, much less any issue involving this game. In part that speaks to the passion of this player base, but there's also a whole lot of toxicity and massive amounts of adamant refusal to get on board with anything that deviates from some internal vision of the way a MechWarrior game should be. The response to the poll was really pretty par for the course.
