Checked my inventory a while ago.
While I am aware that you keep omnipods even after you sell a clan mech, I find it a little funny that you have two arm, two side torso, two leg, a CT and a head omnipod, but not an actual mech.
Do we gain these omnipods again if we buy another mech, and is there any real downside to selling them?

When you sell a clan mech there is an optional checkbox to also sell all currently attached omnipods.
If you buy another mech, yes, it will come fully equipped with all of it's stock omnipods.
If you have excess pods you don't plan to use, then there is no reason to keep them. Sell sell sell!
