For clarity I am talking about the steam that comes out of your mech when it gets hot and is most noticeable when you back up after firing. I'll get a screen shot up if i can get a good one.

I would do that but PPCs look like crap when i do
LOL - Do what I do and learn to not walk backwards. As long as you move forward steam will not effect your fps...

CHOOSE YOU MUST
either slow and steamy, or your mech has a jellyfish cannon!
Ill take the jelly fish cannon....performance over appearance for me. heck, its not like im paying attention to my own guns, rather the enemy im shooting them at, if I hit and get a red reticule, idc what hte gun looks like......well, just as long as it wasnt something faggish like rainbows.....but anyway.

My wife giggles every time she shoots a PPC, simply because it's the jellyfish cannon. Makes me laugh as well because she has so much fun shooting it lol

I understand it's for realism. It obscures my view making myself feel like I'm piloting a mech, which it should. More piloty goodness, less particle lag please

Set particles to one higher than low... Then you don't get the terrible PPC and gauss rendering, but it basically turns off everything else.
