We could see rewards tweaked further. Nice changes so far from what I've seen in matches so far.

Quite agree with this.
Killing damage is very important, because you assure a concret advantage to your team (dead mech cannot fire, your team can focus fire better...).
That said, it depends on situation, and which role/weapons you have in the match. For ejemple with a classic 3-erLL SHD, for me it's a good match if I manage to do around 300-400 dmg, but 4-5 kills.

If I bring an AC20 type mech or a high alpha mech and play smart mid game you can get kills for very low damage. My damage per game is also low on some games where I get behind the enemy team and blast 2-3 dead from behind.
Sometimes I can take out 2 lights with my 40 alpha damage mechs so I'd have a score of 80 damage and 2 kills. That's 2 less mechs distracting my team.
If it's just dealing 200 damage I can just take my splatterpult out everyday, fight for 20 seconds and die then I'd have my 200+ damage easy.

Or 1310 in a 6 ML 1 AC20 Boar's head.
I get a lot less on average as I dont play as much as I used to
My best kill wise is 7 in one match but I did like 700 damage there
I figure Ive done my job as long as I kill more tonnage than I bring

Ive seen that as well. Guy got zero damage in the match, he killed me by dropping down on my head. So effectively DFA but it was weird falling damage so it didnt register as him doing the damage

Rare cases I go below 200 are the worst.
Average bad - 200-300
Normal - 300-500
Good - 500+
The best results are near 900+-.
But the damage in itself is not the best indicator. Yesterday I got 4 kills with ~350 damage. Two of them were just finishing the agonizing mechs, but two were quite fair, done by precise shooting (IS uac5 and lazorz).

That said, I figure 1 kill and 200+ damage is minimal acceptable performance, as that's basically accounting for your own slot in the team roster.
300-400+ damage, assuming several component destructions and 5+ kills/assists is a decent game, where you've done a bit more than your share.
500-700+ damage, assuming 8+ kills/assists and lots of component destructions, is a good game, where you've made a reasonably dominant impact.
More than that, with 11-12 kills/assists, means that you've had an amazing game.
1k+ damage with only 1 or 2 kills and only a few assists means that you really need to learn to aim better, or you need to stop farming damage on crippled targets and do something meaningful instead.
To a point. At times it's just bad luck or not needlessly pursuing a kill. A perfect example is from when I finally got my Ace of Spades achievement. The previous game I had scored 1165 dmg (picked off plenty of parts) and 0 kills. Then the very next game, in the same mech/loadout, I got 10 kills, and 1100 dmg. I just got lucky in that I landed most killing blows and didn't have others get the kill on mechs I'd already worked over.

When it comes to kill , it matters who delivers the final blow
And damage , well , it's that thing you use to take out a mech's armor BUT...says a lot of your contribution to the match.

Admittedly it was a Timberwolf, but it was an SRMWolf, not anything particularly cheesy, so I like to think that's at least something of an accomplishment :<

roughly this, with prbably 400-600 being good.
but it also depends on the mech, in lrm boats and srm boats dmg is higher due to spread. Most laserboats make a lot less damage/kill generally because you can deliver damage better to the sections needed. Same for AC builds of IS, especialy compared to SC builds of th clans.

If you're on a completely evened out team with a solid group of guys, you likely won't see above 500dmg, with almost everybody averaging around 300-400.
On the other hand, when you have a lot of clueless players and you end up carrying the whole match, you'll see anywhere from 1200-2000.
For most games though, 600 and above is a solid, good performance.
