Maybe they didn't rack the high damage, but they never-the-less turn the tide of the match, often by putting ego/score aside and just doing what needs doing.
Maybe it's the light with no weapons who charges in and prevents the base cap by dancing with the enemy weaponless.
Maybe it's just following requests to support a falling teammate
Maybe it the pilot who takes command and actually calls the push at the right time.
This thread is intended to offer a place to acknowledge superior team play/good sportsmanship.
It ain't a free mech, but at least a bit of positive reinforcement never hurt.
Try to follow this format:
Pilot name.
Describe their actions briefly.
Please no negative posts. This is an attempt to build our community up and give us something positive to think about/earn/chat about.
Thanks!

Tip for new players wanting to be recognized. Keep your pilot name simple and we will recognize you more. Weird names with an un-pronounceable string of numerics and characters are hard to remember and will be forgotten unless your are just super-badass. On the other hand, if you are a terribad pilot or a troll, an easily forgotten name is quite a boon. Pick your poison carefully.

I would never have thought a Direwhale could be sneaky, but he managed to come up behind three enemy Assaults while the rest of our team bottlenecked on the Saddle. I think the enemy comment of "WTF? Where'd that Dakkawolf come from" sums it up nicely.

However I like the idea, I would be nice to have a "commend" option in-game with a few limitations: no same-team, no new accounts, no more than N for day, no more than once for the same player, etc. Like a forum "like" but for commendable game actions.

Back during the 8v8 days, he and I were two of the only remaining three mechs on Alpine Assault. We've taken the worst of the initial engagement, and I smell a light cap on our base, so I rush back to find, sure enough, a Catapult and a pair of lights bearing down on our base. I start fighting off the lights and, surprisingly enough, leg and destroy both of them. Best lucky shots I've ever had. But they'd taken a chunk out of me as well, and the Catapult was rounding the corner. I brace for inevitable pain.
Pew pew, teammate DualUzis4U comes roaring out of nowhere with his own much fresher Catapult and rips into the enemy from behind. Together we finish him off handily.
We look up to see the death message of our remaining teammate, leaving us down 6-5. I start marching back towards the center of the map, DualUzis4U about 500m behind me. Like an idiot, I'm not waiting around for him, and sure enough I run smack into an enemy Hunchback on the path beneath the radio tower. He's got the classic AC20 loadout and must have just gotten dumped by his girlfriend that day or something, because I've never reckoned with a nastier or more aggressive Hunchback. I manage to bring him to his knees, but I've lost an arm and the armor on both torsos, and cringe in expectation of the killing AC20 blow...
...when, for the second time in a row, DualUzis4U comes over the hill with guns roaring. He delivers the knockout punch and the Hunchback sags against the mountainside in a smoking ruin.
Only a few minutes left to make a win, and we're in open territory with the enemy nowhere to be seen. We start marching towards their base and decide to split up, being in disagreeable shape ourselves. In retrospect, I'm not sure it was the best move.
But it worked that day. DualUzis4U is about 500m to my left and runs into a fairly fresh Atlas, but tells me to keep going. I do so. After a few moments, he dies, but he's succeeded in drawing the Atlas away from the base. I round a hillside and see an Awesome emerging from behind cover about 700m ahead, his PPC potshots whizzing past me. I turn to take the impact on my side torso, lose it, and inadvertently give myself a grand view of the Atlas howling after me with LRMs (LRMs??!?!) blazing. In desperation, I turn back towards the Awesome in the distance - I'm at the very edge of medium laser range - and fire with the three I have left.
To my utter shock, the Awesome sputters and tumbles to the ground.
The game has changed.
I limp amongst the remaining terrain, barely rounding each hillside before I hear missile warnings from the Atlas on my tail, stumble into the base, and cap. I don't even manage to take adequate cover and get my remaining torso and weapons blown off for it. In a heart-racing panic, I hide deeper amongst the base structures, watch as the Atlas stalks menacingly to within 200m - and then mysteriously stops. I glance in a cold sweat at the enemy base counter. It's empty.
Game over.
DualUzis4U - a beer from me, if we ever meet.
Now...if only more of our matches could be like this.
