OK lets start with this, I like the game, its got some good points. Most of all it has potential. I have supported the game from day one and I have made a significant investment in this game, more than most but I am sure.. not the most. I will support the game in the future for sure. Doubt my faith not, game masters.

The game is missing some crucial elements. Look, I am speaking about the elements of a game that are assumed these days, chat rooms and such. You have a killer game but no way for the masses to get together to play. I can not speak to a person that was just in a match that was awesome, unless I invite him/her to a friends list, then if that person accepts, send that person a private message, that might take that person a day to even see. UNACCEPTABLE. You need to have rooms based on faction, let me be blunt... make it. No if and's or buts.... chat rooms / ready rooms based on faction.

One needs to know before a match begins who is going to drop with what and where. Why is this even an issue? Seriously mechs are specialized, and having the right mech for the right job in the right environment is almost 70% of the game. Random is not friendly, with this meta. Lets be blunt Random is not at all for this meta, give it some serious thought. Give me one, just one, example of a Battletech situation that would toss a dropship with random people in random mechs of random faction together on a random planet in a random sector to kill random people for no random reason to achieve no goal. Right. As I expected. WAIT.... CW, well it better be all that..... seriously it better be all that. DO NOT halfash CW. We have waited long enough for the game you promised PC Gamer, don't think we have forgotten.

Stop, I am not hating but merely pointing in the direction "I" feel the game should be going. Look I am no gaming god, but I do know BattleTech. Since the late 80's, loved it, have had extensive dreams of it, captivated by it. I painted the mini's played the table top, rolled the die. I know what I am looking for. This game is close, closer than the rest but yet so far away in its delivery. The game is there its the interaction that is missing, the team.

Look I am not going to preach to the choir, the advanced players know just as much and at times better than I the lore. I am speaking of the new player, the person that knows nothing. The choice is there and the lore is there if they chose to look but most never will. Force them to chose and reward them for doing it. Only way this will ever work. Reward loyalty and create a reason for it.

I have read that a single player element is being questioned.... do it. Make scenarios that teach new players and allow vets to hone their skill and test their mechs. Make something like Wing Commander's simulations.

Seriously I could keep on rambling.

Lets fix the player aspect first though.... get us a chat line.

Why can you not chat while searching for a game?

Some good points that previous BT games had like MPBT Solaris and 3025. Shouldn't hold up CW for it but definitely think it's needed desperately.

No specialisation in the the public/group queue. Nope. No siree. Lore or not, that's a bad idea for gameplay.

Also chat rooms are overrated. This is a F2P game, and as far as I know it's following how F2P games work. There's nothing stopping you to actually talking to friends outside the game, or in forums, or in TS. While it might be nice to have chat rooms, it's certainly not a pillar feature IMO.

I think random is great.
the amount of *meta* then if you know what planet you drop and what you fight=very very bad.

for instance, if you know you drop on mordor nobody but NOBODY will use lasers or missile.
now it's a random factor.
So random=good for ELO

The extra bandwidth needed for chat and VOIP isn't going to pay for itself - or will it? It will probably help immensely with new player retention (unless noobs are met with toxicity).

But a minimal plan for monetizing in game comms could be to bundle it with premium time (but is that P2W?)

Oh, and don't hate me coz I'm Random.

When they put up the UI2.0 Feedback thread. I wasn't the only one saying we needed a few public chats, General chat, new player chat, Looking for Group chat. And that we could be able to pay MC to set up our own permanent chats that we can host in Game.
But it seems at that point they were pretty set on what they were gonna do.

We should get chatrooms when CW launches. That would make sense as far as trying to get groups together for drops, etc.

I DO NOT want to hear mouthbreathers and whiners over in-game VoIP. Leave that to Teamspeak.

This game had promise during the initial beta. Sadly it has never been as much fun since then...... 8 man drops (4 lance max with whatever you want) with no Elo handicap MM and no poptarting.

WTB that game.

Seconded. Lobbies and chat are low priority to me.

What I DO want is some form of radial command/chat system in game.

"Engaging enemy DireWolf (H) in E7"
"Help! Need assistance in D2"
"Enemy seen in E5"

I'd like a damage report command too, that displays an enemy mech's most damaged component:

"Enemy Highlander RT exposed"

etc.
