here is an idea, that will give players with a large amount of mechs the possibility to accumulate loyalty points while giving new players the chance to participate in CW for CB.
Also this gives people that play for loyalty points a certain thrill, as they try to keep their losses minimal while new players will not be punished (only when they decide to play for loyalty points).
One important aspect, that could be easily combined with alot of the cool ideas from the forums, is a distinction between the players, that play for LP and the players that play for CB.
The game for LP would be something like the endgame. To earn LP a player has actually to invest CB in repair/rearm and to suffer losses to his inventory (for CW in the running season).
The game for CB would be as it is now. The players gather CB and pay for repair/rearm and replacements with their ability to accumulate LP. They would not gain many LP, but it would not hurt them further.
How it works:
All mechs and equipment that a player owns are always available for normal matches (non CW).
At the beginning of a season all mechs and equipment that a player owns are initially available for CW, but this can change during the season.
Any CB, non-salvaged equipment and mechs that the player gains during a season (in or outside CW) will be available in the current season and in normal matches.
Outside CW and after end of season all equipment and mechs are usable again.
The pledge:
In CW it is possible to take on pledges for your current house or clan.
When signing, the player pledges to fight (x) matches for his house.
The pledge is offered with a certain reward in CB and loyalty points.
The rewards can be different from house to house, to give the players incentives to even out house populations.
The player will have to determine which mechs and what equipment from his stock will be used for these matches and mechs / equipment will be flagged “in use” for CW as long as his pledge is not fulfilled.
These mechs will not be available in matches for other houses (e.g. planetary defense).
Extra match rewards:
After each match there will be salvage depending on the mechs / equipment that have been destroyed on the opposing force.
The salvage will be somehow (randomly?) distributed between all members of his team.
Equipment of the player that has been destroyed during the match is flagged as “lost” for the CW this season (but can be brought back while the pledge is running).
Repair, rearm and replace:
Between the matches the player has the possibility to use salvaged equipment (no mechs) to replace lost equipment.
Equipment / mechs that have been destroyed from his stock during the match can be brought back by taking loyalty penalty points.
Armor and ammo can be replaced by using CB or taking loyalty penalty points.
Pledge cash-out:
When the pledge ends the player receives his rewards:
+ CB-bonus as stated when signing the pledge
+ Loyalty bonus points as stated when signing the pledge
+ Loyalty bonus points or extra CB (player choice) depending on a percentage of the value of the salvaged mechs
+ Loyalty bonus points or extra CB (player choice) depending on a percentage of the value of the salvaged equipment, that the player wants to give to the house
(he can keep and use salvaged equipment during the CW for the current season to cover his losses or to experiment, but the salvaged equipment will be lost when the season ends)
- Loyalty penalty points accumulated during the (x) matches for repair, rearm, replacement of equipment and replacement of mechs
The final loyalty point reward can never be negative.
To give players an incentive to take losses to their inventory in order to get loyalty points even at the start of a season, rewards and penalties in loyalty points would be significiantly higher at the start of the season and gradually decline to the end of the season. This could be done by multipliers that are applied by cash-out depending on the time in the season.
After the pledge:
After completion of the pledge the mechs / equipment will no longer be flagged “in use” and can be used again.
Mechs / equipment that have been flagged as “lost” and that have not been replaced during the pledge will no longer be available for CW this season.
After a given pledge is completed the player has the opportunity to change his allegiance to another house (which comes at the special loyalty point fee depending on house relations, that was presented in the official CW descriptions) to take on a new (and maybe more profitable) pledge from the other house.
