Yes a locust got three kills and practically did as much damage as a Firestarter which people are saying is OP.

Firestarter 35 tons vs Locust 20 tons.

Excuse me why is my big toe doing almost as good as my left fist?

Also take note the little blighter did more damage and got more kills than the 100 ton Dire Wolf 3 slots above it.

A few weeks back I was just messing around in a Locust with 4MGs and a Flamer in the PUG queue.

I solo'd a Griffin.

Congrats. Looks like your locust got ignored pretty good....that Firestarter needs to carry a lot harder though lol.

So you got one good game in a Locust and think it equals to a Firestarter? Go home, you are drunk.

Ive seen locusts do double that.

A single point of data is completely meaningless in regard to game balance.
By that logic, we should nerf the K2 Cat as I once did a 1300dmg game with a terribly bad 4xERLL build.
Hint: It wasnt my "skill", it was a nice gift from MM.

I used to get a steady 800 damage in my plinkanator AC/2 Jager irritating the daylights out of people driving the Gaussmaster 2000 and they decided to nerf that. If an AC/2 can be OP so can a 20 ton light mech.

usually depends if you get spooted and tagged by something bigger....

I love my 1V though, with that ERLL and fires like a pulse laser...

The AC2 build shouldnt have received that much of a nerf. Especially since most of the rage was about screenshake/blinding which could have been dealt with much better than putting AC2s on GH.

I wouldn hit the locust with the nerfbat, but if you like, hell yeah, nerf it. I dont run a lot of lights and no locust at all. PGI ruined my beloved Catapults, so why not wreck another chassis.
In my opinion, the FS9 happens to benefit more than other light mechs from broken hitreg. It doesnt need a nerf, it needs a fix. Whole game does so btw.

IMO all lights should be nerf via size increase. They do and tank too much damage,

In my opinion: Locusts are "hard mode". Just making a viable build that can still dish out some damage while limited to 20 tons (much of which is engine and requisite heat sinks) is mechlab hardmode. Staying alive is harder-mode. Doing *well* harder-er-mode.

That said, when you pull off a 500+-damage game in a Locust, damn it feels good.

I dunno, I've only recently put time into locusts. And within this same month, have for my first time ever, used a mech that goes 100kph+ (Cicada)
Lolcusts really aren't that hard as everyone describes.

Play in CW and then use that as a balance argument showing of 12v12 randomness is useless with how random games can be.

It's completely different and when losing actual tonnes matters. Eg. Overheating to get a kill in 12 v 12, not a bad idea and you will probably live, knocked off an enemy, plus with people being spread out and so forth. CW it's a death sentence if you're not playing long range sniper game, and shutting down to kill a 35T mech with a DWF you are going to pay dearly for with your next drops.
