Just to clarify: does this mean that the AC20 fires faster? or slower?

HBK-4G
Additional Armor (RT) +18
Additional Structure (RT) +12
AC/20 Range +25%
AC/20 Cooldown +25%
AC/20 Velocity +25%
Energy Weapon Heat Gen -12%
Energy Weapon Range +16%

I think/hope it's a typo. Otherwise, every single cooldown quirk he listed in that thread would be a nerf...ouch.

Personally I'm fine with adding bonuses to anything other than projectile speed. My main issue with it is causing newbies having trouble understanding why the amount they need to lead with for the same weapon is different on two mechs.

No he's right, the cooldown is increased 25%(1 second) or else the energy weapon heat gen is a negative quirk adding %16 heat,

Because the text on the mech says so? If they can't read... well... maybe they shouldn't be playing a game that might require that?

My point wasn't that they can't read and understand that the bullet moves quicker. My point was the bonus could feel more like a negative if they feel they have to relearn a weapon because the lead time is different. I'll drop it after this post. I honestly don't feel that strongly one way or another. I was just trying to play devil's advocate and show what could possibly be construed as the bonus feeling like more like an annoyance than an advantage.

I believe Russ has already stated that none of the mechs are going to be getting bad quirks. Which leads me to believe that this quirk will be stated similarly to how the cool down modules are described as a decrease of XX%. Which means the Hunchback 4G will probably be OP.

Spoiler

If they're new, they'll have to learn the function of all the weapons anyway. At best I think it warrants a distinction. But ultimately it's like having to learn a new weapon. After the first match, they'll better understand the difference.
