Brawling weapons have been terrible since pretty much the med laser nerf and the SRM 6 nerfs (different patches).

I don't know about CSRMs or CMLAS but brawling IMHO has never felt better. I'm having a blast in my MLas / SRM equipped Shawks and I see many doing the same in Griffins, Jenners, Atlas and even the occasional stalker. Heck, I've even started using the occasional LPL

We already had faster PPCs. We already had them. For 2 years, and it was ****. A small chargeup isn't going to change that. It only works for Gauss because it's so fiddly that you need a lot of skill to even get them to work and you pretty much have to use them solo.

PPFLD with 500m+range and great accuracy plus no ammo trumps everything else. We know this because we already had it. PPCs got nerfed, specifically, because PPCs were OP crap before.

Please search for 'PPCs OP' at the top of the forum to get 20+pages of threads of people complaining about PPCs, for years, because they were OP. Why were they OP?

No they don't.

Clan medium laser has 40% range advantage and about 12% more heat.
The IS medium laser is a short-ranged weapon. It has higher damage per heat than the Clan ER medium laser. You're supporting his point that short-ranged weaponry is more heat efficient...

SRMs require artemis to not be crap. But they are still pretty lame compared to how they were when they had extra damage per missile and large explosive profiles that overlapped and caused extra damage.
You only need Artemis on SRMs if you are planning on staying near the maximum range. Below half range, the difference is unnoticeable. The explosives profile was removed because it wreaked havoc on server performance. Also, it made SRMs overall worse; you couldn't control where the damage was going. The damage nerf was a balance nerf - obviously they were stronger then, but we have fixed HSR now so the extra damage isn't necessary at all. In fact, they are doing about 100% more damage than previously, or even more. Just go dig up those old posts where people were saying that 1 SSRM2 = 2 SRM4.

SSRMs are just ruined when you consider how the IS version used to function; and now the clan version is just better (but not as good as the old version).
They got a damage nerf and are no longer CT-seeking missiles. In other words, they're balanced.

We aren't back to the days of PPC brawling but we really aren't where we should be with the close range weapons.
All you're doing is complaining that the weapons aren't behaving in ridiculous ways any more. All of the changes that you've referenced had a positive effect on the game overall.

The IS medium laser really needs a rollback of the laser heat nerf to compensate. What I'm trying to say here is that the damage benefit isn't high enough to compensate for really short range. The addition of longer range "standard" clan weapons made it worse. And they didn't even rollback the nerfs.

I question how effective a single SRM6 actually is...I use one on my Warhawk, but I dont even notice it doing much to TG mechs......even with art, I gotta say, its very spread out....kind bad almost.
