While Milling over some things I had in mind, this came up:

This is what should return, but in MWO graphics... I know that may cost alot, but hey, we can dream and hope, right? Anyways, give me your opinion on this, maybe this could happen, so far, only one still remains, somewhere in the south-east of the US.

Easier and more affordable to do it with HMDs like the Oculus Rift.

Went there and it was actually really stupid to play.

They had the mech game and red planet (which had a cameo by weird Al).

Long story short they say crap about putting you in for a mission and then not telling you all you're doing is playing in a deathmatch arena.

Really....really boring.

The game made it out as though you were going to play as a team against some bots and like any other video game you would work your way to a boss fight.

Nope just mindless 16 people fighting each other in a tiny little arena.

Do a search for 'sim pit' here on the forums. There's even a DIY buildalong :)

We had those here in Denver once... Buddy and I were playing (cost a shitton) and group of randoms wanted to play too. They were gonna kick my buddy and I out because they didn;t want us to PWN them. We convinced them to let us keep playing, just in the smallest mechs, Kit Fox I think, while everyone else where in heavy Timber Wolves, and Atlas'. We still owned them, I almost felt bad. We were running with heat and everything while the noobs weren't.

First time players are normally in a free for all at most sites, but if you talk to the operator they can easily set up team missions either you and your friends against bots or each other.

I wish we could have MWO running in the pods it's a whole different experience with the players all in the same room able to talk to each other before and after the battles.

Yea they used to be in the Dave and Busters off Colorado Blvd and I-25. That's where I first experienced mech combat. I promptly fired all my guns, overheated and got crushed. the immersion was awesome even if I was terrible.

The Vulture V4 (Maddog) was sick in this game.... it fired crapton of LRMS that did nice damage (LRMS in this game went straight out like how SRMS do in MWO.... but much farther)...

After you are done playing a game there is a printout of who shot what mech and what mechanical part got destroyed (Left Torso destroyed)... in BOLD Print it would show whenever a Mech was destroyed

One time a whole group of us decided to do Heat/ Splash damage and told the operator to have us spawn 5 feet from each other... The Virtual World people told us it was a record for the most Mech Kills ever recorded in 10 minutes (ENTIRE Printout was just BOLD PRINTS of MECHS destroyed)..

Also it took forever back in 1994 for the Game to load and start... sometimes crashing.... I had 2 operators accuse me of using/having a PAGER device that would disrupt the whole system and cause a massive crash. (for the record I have never owned a PAGER... although I do have the unique power to touch things and they break ala Static Electricity)

I also remember that if you press all 3 weapon button systems same time you could dump your ammo to prevent AMMO explosions... something I had to do alot in that Vulture

They had some here in Charleston for a while. First time I ever piloted an Owens, crappy little thing but fast. My buddies and I would go every weekend, even started to help the guys demo the advanced settings with heat and torso twist, we would murder guys in the pods...
