My frame rate drops dramatically when my mech reaches high heat on the map "the manifold" (space map thing). When i walk backwards or stand still, the smoke coming from the heat of the mech, is whats killing my FPS

Its getting very annoying now that i am using the Wubmaster (STD 350 8MPL battlemaster, Thank you b33f! <3)

Wich of the settings needs to be lowered to have this gigantic FPS drop prevented?

Same here. I dont 'have a single lag in any modern game at any quality settings, and MWO is not an exeption - runs like a charm at max settings. But if I use zoom + thermal vision in MWO, and go backwards (in order to see my own heat emission trails), framerate drops to 2-3 fps. The same smoke, but without thermal vision renders without a single issue.

Remember that picture-in-picture rendering (aka advanced zoom) is another GPU intensive function.

Hey OP - try turning down particles. Can you reply back here whether that works or not? Closing the loop helps future posters - they can search, find this post, and see what worked for you :)
