You are allowed to use bannable exploits to game game mechanics so long as you are doing so in a private match.

Well... yes? Who could ban you for hacking your own private game? That's just dumb.

I thought the rules for the game were meant to be applied to the whole game (especially since this loophole isnt mentioned IN them)

my mistake

It probably depends. If it's not agreed to before hand, I'd avoid it, but if they say anything goes, have your dire wolves ride in on your locusts and enjoy!

I asked one of the mods and they said basically whatever goes in private matches

I can see why. There's no rewards, IIRC, so there's nothing to gain from exploiting.

Well it is a private match. The players agree on the rules. If someone exploits and they had agreed beforehand not to do so then they lose a bunch of friends who won't play with a cheater. If the players agreed that anything was ok then it should be fine ... but if someone objects they can always agree to exclude it from future matches. The only exception I can see is for game engine or similar exploits that can't actually be seen from inside the game ... if there are cheats that the players can't detect then they should be bannable whether used in public or private matches since there is no way for the players running the game to know that a player was cheating in that case.

Wait, you're not allowed to have Direwolves ride on Locusts? Is there an actual list of exploits somewhere?

A lot of games are like this. They have zero problem with you exploiting unless you stand to benefit or troll strangers.

Its pretty easy to combat in private matches
You just dont invite the player(s) to your next match
Or make your opinions known and walk away if its on your team

Not that I'm aware, but that's one I know of. If you land on a mech and don't fall off, you move with it.

Yes, which is part of why it's an exploit, as the dire wolf now moves at the Locust's speed. The other reason is that causes many mechs to get stuck in a falling animation, so their hitboxes can move around a lot as it looks like the mech is falling and then teleporting back up the mech from someone watching,

I had a few games durring the lance challenge where there was a dire wolf being ridden by an Atlas. You couldn't hit the Atlas easily, and it had enough firepower to wipe many folks off the map quickly, and was immune to many ECM Counters.

makes absolutely no sense to cheat weather its a public or private match

its like going to race a car at a car race but you already have the first place trophy

why waste your time and the other persons time

now if your experimenting with ways to hack a public match this game is so well controlled they would find out before to long and screw up your hack

they could make you just blow up

not good in the end you would be Frustrated and miserable

I think he's talking about some of the sillier things like mech riding, team killing, failure to engage, etc.

It'd be stupid to enforce a pointless rule in this type of situation and only make the company look evil. I don't see the issue, if you want to cheat on your own server...then...well it's your loss I suppose.

Err, wait... I think I'm doing it wrong... >_>

The moderators have no power to ban... you would have to tell a GM.
