Greetings,

Check the cards drivers and see if the latest MS update didn't default it to something else.

- There were some really weird changes with the last MS update.
- Your drivers should be version:
344.11 WHQL
Release Date: 2014.9.18
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit
Language: English (US)
File Size: 269.00 MB

Or for 32Bit:
344.11 WHQL
Release Date: 2014.9.18
Operating System: Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 8.1 32-bit, Windows 8 32-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit
Language: English (US)
File Size: 209.00 MB

Win 8 Drivers:
Still running the 344.11 drivers
link: http://www.nvidia.co...aspx?lang=en-us

Greetings,

The device id may be wrong, that id is identified as a SATA IDE Controller
Device id = 0x1183

- But Nvidia may also be using that same id number for it's item. Other sources also show that same id for the GTX 660Ti
- The vender is correct as Nvidia

Check your Nvidia control panel and some of the new features that are now included, the last items for 3D might be suspicious.
- I reinstalled my latest drivers and only installed the actual video driver, not all the 3D items or the 'experience' especially.

Also, run the repair tool from the start screen, the small gear in the top right. Some files may have become corrupted, it's happened to others.

See if that cleans up the operation,

Did you change the UserVA in order to increase available memory? that can cause problems with drivers.

Revert back to an earlier driver version from Nvidia. If this works, you need to scrub your Nvidia drivers to update to the current version (you basically have corrupted drivers for whatever reason, it occasionally happens). Or you can just wait until the next version of drivers come out, and try installing them. When I've gotten this issue, it has been driver related each time, was a pain in the butt to clean out the current drivers (reinstalling always seemed to go fine but problem would persist). Best thing to do at that point is remove all video drivers, reboot, install new one(don't let Microsoft go looking for them) and go on from there. Google uninstalling Nvidia drivers for procedures.

Greetings all,

If it is a driver issue, when you update or install, always go for a clean install.
- It's in the advanced install selection.
- After that uninstall the older drivers if they are still listed on the programs list.
- Then check the Nvidia folder, should be defaulted to C drive, to insure they are removed. (there's a folder created for each driver version.

If you don't do the clean install, it will use some items from both drivers set. ie, not updating the older same version of various items.
- As others have stated a complete uninstall and restart will default to windows basic drivers.
(be prepared for a possible screen size change and desktop icons to get moved.)
- You should have already downloaded the new drivers and have them ready for the install, or just go back to the Nvidia site to get the correct system and card version.

The clean install of the new drivers will default all Nvidia setting to there standard settings. Just go through the setting again and set items where they need to be.

It was working yesterday, but not today you say? You need to update your drivers.

Gonna Necro this, since it comes up on Google: I had this issue, with my own system which has a GTX 770 currently running 347.09 Drivers on Win 8.1 x64.

I solved the issue by going up to the gears icon in the upper-right hand corner of the launcher, and switching from "Force 32-bit game client" to "Use 64-bit game client (if supported by Operating System)". The problem simply went away. Granted, Last I heard the 64-bit game client is unstable? Or did they mostly fix that?

Greetings all,

The video card has a thermal overload switch that will shut down the card if it's about to be damaged from heat.
- Did you hear the fans jump up in speed before the card reset?
- Have you run the manufactures program to handle the cards settings?
(I have two Zotac cards, so the 'firestorm' program is for them. Other manufactures have there own. See here for Nvidias recommendations: http://www.nvidia.co....08-driver.html )

Additionally does the card have dedicated power plugs directly from the PSU? Or are you tapping them off other devices?
- And both plugs being used?
- Is there another vid port on the PSU you can use, and is it rated for the cards requirement?
Thermal and Power Specs: (your GTX 660 Ti card)
97 C Maximum GPU Tempurature (in C)
150 W Maximum Graphics Card Power (W)
450 W Minimum System Power Requirement (W)
Two 6-pinSupplementary Power Connectors

As a note here; I had one card that would sometimes 'shut down'. With the fans spinning very fast it would vibrate the card, (cleaned them to fix the balance issue) this bounced the card in it's slot, which did cause the connectors to 'misfire' and reset the card. (cleaned them and reset the card also)
- So not always a technical drivers, or power issue.

Hi 9erRed and thx for answer.

I never touch the card with any soft. I never overcloak it or anything else ( I am technical pc noob ).

All rig and components was choose and setup from proffesional guy in his PC shop, all components should be fit and working together, and I have never any problems before . . its 2 years now I think.

there are some specs:

GeForce GTX 660 Ti ( Gigabyte brand )
Intel Core i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.80 GHz
16 GB RAM
64-Bit Operation System

(7,6 - Win. Exp. Index - I not sure what exactly means this number ) - Windows 7 Home premium

Runnig MWO in ultra high setups 64bit client, DX11, FPS about 100-60. ( I tried all trick which I found on forum, so I tried downgread video, particles etc . . . .nothing help. So I am back on high settings.

I cleaned the inside of PC, fans and graphic card with compress air month ago, but it wasnt dirty or dusty at all anyway.
I dont think there is something unplugged or out of slot etc . . .

But yes I can hear rapidly turning fans on and sound like there is some bad matrix, but this happens also before it was crashy like this. I thought its normal and fans are runnig so fast cose graphic card is hard working in MWO. I can hear it also in Diablo or some other games but I had no problems with any other game.

I dont know exactly how hot is CPU or card . . . I never had any issue with hot. But maybe I should download some soft for it. Is there some good?

Like I said, few months ago it was most stabile game, I could had open many program in the backround and I culd alt - tabbing between them anytime, without any problems.

Greetings,

If you think the 'sudden' heat jump may now be an issue for your card and the latest MWO install.
- There's a few programs, drivers, and utilities from Gigabyte that can be downloaded at there site.

First you need to know exactly which model card you have.
- Should be on a sticker on the card, or on the box, or on the list of parts supplied when you had the machine built.

The model choices are:
GV-N66TOC-2GD
GV-N66TOC-2GD-EU
GV-N66TOC-3GD
GV-N66TWF2-2GD
GV-N66TWF2-2GD-JP
GV-N66TWF3-3GD

Once that is known go to there site: http://www.gigabyte....ility.aspx?cg=3
- Look for the correct video model download of VGA Tools - OC Guru II
- That should have some form of fan control settings.
- current version: v.1.78/ 14.35Mb/ issued 2015/01/27

You can also just run the Nvidia 'System Tools' item to monitor, set, or Profile the video card and Fans. Again a different download at the Nvidia site, look for system tools. (see the link in my last post)
Here's an example of my Fan settings profile with Nvidia, set to start each time MWO is launched.
Posted Image

Important: On some of those reference cards there is a small switch located on the vent metal plate. Fan controls mode,
- Some models have 2 FAN control modes. In silent mode (SW2), the FAN speed remains slow to keep working environment quiet until GPU reaches certain high temperature. If you want to use performance mode, you can switch the connector to SW1.
- Note: make sure you update BIOS to latest version before doing this step.
- Depending on the card model the switch may or may not be present.
Posted Image

There are different types of 'video heat and Fan speed jumps', some are ok for the card and system, other not, and will cause the card to 'thermal shutdown' to save itself. I did have MWO cause this a few times with some of there 'Patch's',(fixed with fans settings) and having my graphics settings in Nvidia conflict with MWO settings, or just set too high for my cards capability's.

Note here: I have not used OC GURU II, but there are considerable controls for every function of the card.
- There a special section for Fan control with Auto, manual, and profile settings. (similar to the Nvidia one)
Warning: If you don't know what a setting is for or does, DON'T change it. (till you read the documents and understand what that change will do.)

Good luck,
9erRed
