Just a little bit of hypothetical maths here:

The event has now been running almost exactly 24 hours. The score is 98,000.

Lets assume the average score per match is 15 (bias towards Skirmish, and the balance between primary and secondary objectives for Assault and Conquest.)

That suggests 6,533 matches have been played in the last 24 hours. That's 272 matches per hour.

I believe an average match is about 7 minutes. Allowing for search and mechlab time, lets assume an average player gets 7 matches in per hour. That would suggest there are on average 39 consecutive matches occurring.

24 players per match gives an average of 936 players online at any one time, excluding private matches.

Food for thought.

(This is pure back-of-the-cigarette-packet calculations, so feel free to correct any of my maths or assumptions.)

45% it most likely will be. I am okay with that.

You realize the Shadowhawk is also on sale? As are mech bays?

Or will be on Tuesday at least.

Imho every Player who wants a SHD does have a SHD after the many months this Mech is in the game - is it already a year since the Phoenix Pack was released?

PS; I guess that the average per Player is between 4 and 5 matches in a hour and imho we had ~500 matches per hour in the peak times.

Seems a bit heavy on the Skirmish-side in terms of game modes. Which makes the means by which to achieve the goals in this event ill chosen.
More people than usual are selecting Skirmish for getting more points. But since Skirmish doesn't have any real goal besides destroying all enemies, awarding more points here than in the others was a mistake.

The only real goal seems to be to make the most points by making the usual team-deathmatch-style happening in Assault and Conquest yield more points.
Resulting in another time frame which is dominated by the sub-par game mode...

Personal points don't matter, though. I don't think people are playing for points, since I can earn 0 points and get the end discount.

They could have made the point-scale less rewarding (or even non-rewarding) for secondary-objective wins, but that might have caused people to get angry at other players when a team goes for a 12-kill run on an Assault Map or Conquest.

This kind of event is good for spreading word through the grape-vine that getting online and fielding additional players can give everyone a reward. However, I think it would offer a bigger incentive if they gave players who achieve X number of points a secondary reward, or a multiplier of the global reward.

I think it would be really cool if PGI gave all the players who had X amount of matches played this weekend a bonus 6.5 million c-bills or something along those lines for working so hard to play in the event. Say Anyone that drops 100 plus matches this weekend gets it. :-)

3 Stormcrow? About 33,5 MCB... So with 45% off = 18,4 MCB... I think...

Nice tournament tied to sales event concept...already have all the stormcrow and ad shadowhawk variants though.
Maybe expand the sales list to include the variants for a clan and IS mech in EVERY weight class.
would really like to give my Crybaby errr Pretty Baby some company in Awesome skill grind set.

At 45% off, roughly 18.41 million C-Bills, which is barely over the cost of a Dire Wolf

For all five Shadowhawks, it will cost 14.21 million C-Bills/

Thats for three Stormcrows, not one. Each Stormcrow will cost six million, not nine million like the Atlas, and double heat sinks, endo-steel, ferro-fibrous and an XL engine are all already on the Stormcrows.

novas are approx 9.5 mill each so you can guesstimate 10.5 mill or 11 each for the stormcrows and then the shadowhawks x5 for approx 7 mill each overall regular priced

Nice idea, good to see you keeping up the momentum of interesting stuff happening every week.

With all the communication from Russ and the good stuff coming up I think we are in a good place at the moment.

Until the next drama... ;)

I was going to pick up a SC for C Bills. At this rate I will get all three in the sale (C Bills not MC).

Don't worry though, I will pick up some premium time to level those bad boys up :)

/salute

Considering that is cheaper than the other games would have put it at (or the original TT game) and it would cost you at least that much to outfit a similar IS chassis to the same level? (IE DHS, Endo, XL...)

Clan tech looks expensive - but the final cost is no more (and frequently less!) than the final cost for their IS counterparts

You would need 150k points over 24 hours to even have a shot @ 50%. The problem is that we're 50% short of those expectations.

45% is the likely scenario, barring unforeseen circumstances.

Stormcrows are either 11m or 13m per varient or so. I forget which is the correct number.

The savings will be golden, considering that you will likely spend a lot of money on clan weapons to make it useful.
