It's not that I hate the ridiculously long search times.. oh wait I do. Yes, these were the times for 3 matches in a row. Something has to be done because there is absolutely no point to run any heavy/assault 'Mech for farming c-bills OR to have fun. I know there are other priorities obviously. Am I the only person complaining about this? :P

Even though I am chiefly an Assault/Heavy pilot, for grinding C-Bills, I just bust out my Lurm Hawks. Faster queue, equal amount of damage and C-Bill rewards as heavier classes, and more chance of victory.

That looks about right. I believe five minutes is the 'cut off' point in which the MM gives up trying to match you with proper elo etc and just dumps you in whatever match it can. Five minutes is actually pretty fine, really. I for one get matches a lot quicker than that, usually only a minute, but it entirely depends on what 'Mech you're taking. If you take an assault or Daishi, you're going to be sitting there for awhile. ;)

Yup PGI's matchmaker algorithm is doing way too much. If they could only reduce the requirements of their algorithm the search times would be much faster. I feel as half my life is spent waiting for a match. PGI could further reduce search times by placing non/faction pilots in there own queue. They will never join a group so plugging them into groups of any size only results in a disappointing gaming experience.

BTW My wait times are the same and sometimes up to 8 minutes.

Yeah I have zero issues with a Jenner. Probably because my ELO in them is absolute crap and the fact that it's a light 'Mech. 30 seconds search time at the most for those. I like to influence the battle though. In a Dire Wolf I am able to carry, not so much in a Jenner(the better pilots can carry no problem).

I take home more c-bills with my assaults so I queue with them anyway. :(

ive never waited more then 3 minutes for a match and sometimes I get in less then a minute........ofc the really quick found matches almost always end in a 12-2 stomp or worse and in under 5 minutes....but yeah......

Usually if I am waiting a long time its cuz the MM is actually trying to find a match, rather then a curb stomping....

Usually wait a minute or so. Usually play mediums.
It says up in the corner what class to play if you want to reduce your waiting time. :P

That's the MWO tradeoff nowadays: play Mediums and play more matches but generally get less per match, or play Assaults and play fewer matches but generally get more per match (assuming you're good with both). Evens out in the end.

Time to look at what times you are playing and looking % on mech in play.

I play around 8am and 6pm GTM with light and Medium mechs and wait no more then 3 mins. Playing assault or conquest.

Play outside popular game times (US mainly) and/or use Heavy and Assault Mechs then expect longer waiting times. Then add to this if you are only want to play selected game modes.

What are you expecting?

It is because loads of players, including myself have stopped playing mechwarrior. I came to that realisation midway through a game, that I was just wasting time in a absolutely fantastic game, which has unfortunately run afoul through lack of player communication and interaction, and focussing on themselves. MWO Was, and still is such a shame, miss my Jenner and Awesome.

70 percent of the game's population play heavy or assault mechs. So yes, if you launch in one of those mechs, you will get higher wait times. The little hover-over dohickey that appears when you mouse-over Launch even tells you as much.

Thank the good Lord I'm a medium jockey. My wait times for mediums are nearly nonexistent, and with my Doomcrow prime (I) plus premium I clear about 300k a match on win and 175k on a loss.

never had a 5 minute wait. Unless it was due to our team leader/team mate taking a smoke break

Never wait more than a minute or two. If its running longer, I cancel and restart then get into a match immediately.

But if you are wanting to play in a Heavy or Assault, its your problem not the games.

What game modes do you have selected? All, 1, 2 of them?

All 3 game modes selected. It would be great if there was a checkbox that you could tick to throw you into a random match with no ELO balancing.

When the wait times are long I play Embers or Kintaros and still grind away effectively. My w/l plummets because I keep being dropped with noobs in Dire Fails, but at least I usually get some CBills to help wash the taste of frustration out of my mouth.

Except now you're splitting up the player base between ELO and non ELO which is even worse for the matchmaker.
