All mechs sell for a set rate based on weight.
It tends to work out at just UNDER 50% return if you sell the Engine, Equipment and Weapons it came with.
However, you cannot sell the Armour points, so lose a few percent of value on that, and you get no return on upgrades (SHS/DHS, SA/FF, SS/ES/ S/+A) so take a complete loss on those.

I admit, I'm honestly tempted to sell some of my Clan mechs once mastered.
Adders, as much as I like, don't have that much variety, so may only keep 1-2 CTs.
Summoners I don't care for and will quite possible only keep my prime unless I can find some workable builds.
And really, must the same can be applied to several frames.

But we'll see. I still have a good 25 mechbays before I need to worry.

Have fun tediously switching around full builds along with omnipods

This. Yup.

You paid for them didn't you? Why sell them. I bought the Masakari package and I loadout each variant to fill a different role on the battlefield. Building the mech, testing it in live combat and tweaking it is half the fun. I own over 60 mechs and I play every single one.

They said they would give the Clans a quirk pass too. So some of the variants might get different weapon quirks to encourage different play styles. If you have free mechbays. I'd hold onto them.

Anyone who sells a mech after buying it with real money needs to be smacked in the head.

I am the same way. I have at least 3 competitive builds for each mech chassis.

Timber-C, Warhawk-B, Nova-S, Dire-B all have unique hardpoints in CT, so those chassis you want at least the 2. other than that i keep all mine for different loadouts. Warhawk-B is more of a Brawler, Warhawk-A is LRMs and Prime is for PPCing all the things.

I sell variants I don't use. I don't want to spend tons of cash on mech bays in addition to the hundreds on the packages themselves. Mech bays should be available for c-bills, and if they were, I would not sell anything. That said, I do not mind swapping omnipods if necessary, but when is it really? One build is typically best and that is what I play 100% of the time. I typically had my 3 clan mechs with 3 identical setups anyway. I keep anything with unique CT though.

I sold all my Inner Sphere mechs, about the only thing I consider obsolete.

If you participate in community warfare and want to bring doubles of a mech, you'll need more mechs.

Aye this has come back to bite me in the ass. :P

I think I only really need to re-buy a summoner (or two...), depending on how the JJ buff/further thor quirks work out, which isn't so bad, but if I ever decide to go back to the IS....

well if you have mechbay trouble, yes you can sell them, but the best on those clanmechs is, you don't need to switch loadouts, you make different mechs the way you want and keep them,

Well honestly I would prefer to keep them but because I need so dang many C-bills for new mechs and modules, it is hard to justify hanging on to variants that just sit in bays unused. Also bays can start getting expensive after a while.
