I have been away since they nerfed my precious nova

my problem now is that it seems my fps dropped since then I did not change anything on my settings

also can anyone give a quick rundown of what happened since then

but my main concern is the somewhat laggy gameplay

Cryengine is very CPU intensive and will give FPS drops if the CPU gets too busy to service all the requests. Turn off background stuff that you dont need helps the most. I just tracked down mozilla homepage update has some kind of interactive thing that was running a core at 30% all the time

For graphics mostly turn off shadows, particles and AA

Other than that there are a few user.cfg floating around that give pretty good optimization tips

I play on a core2duo and get 30-40 fps usually, its worse on some maps than others, gets bad with a lot of cabin rattler spam, drops to 20s in some cases

Could be your PC running in energy save mode. Check your PC settings. Check temperatures. Check if your graphics card is still ok. That's somewhat strange, and seems more related to your PC than the game, if repair tool doesn't help it.
