Is this one of those things where the first kid on their block to own a playstation 3 enjoys it when other people don't have it.

Then the second every kid on their block has a playstation 3, its no longer "cool" anymore?

I think everyone who posted on the forums complaining the direwolf is op deserves an opportunity to pilot one and fail to break 100 dmg using it. There are valuable life lessons to be learned piloting a direwolf, such as "leave no mech behind" and "stick together".

Would you deprive the player base of those character enriching, value teaching, experiences?

This assuming the player base is capable of learning said lesson....atleast they kinda get the stick together lesson.....

After thinking about this for a week I've come to the conclusion this mech should never go C-bills.
I look to the direwolf as proof that all those who hate clan must have changed there minds because it is everywhere now making that mech feel cheap. The maddog isn't an Op mech actually the arms fall off if its looked at the wrong way but it feels good playing it since its in a club of sorts, Im not playing on ego here or anything just saying anything that costs real cash should stay that way., imagine if you bought a hero mech the one you always wanted and suddenly a few weeks later everyone had it? just because they have time to play and farm free C-Bills. I'll end with Thanks for reading Enjoy the game (Its getting better guys/gals) See ya on the battle field.

You can't be serious? If you are, then as punishment for suggesting this the devs should remove your Maddog.

This lession is shared by the Trial Clan Mechs :) I think they're one reason why this thing is so common these days.

A resounding no, and I don't play clan.

Plus the public would roast PGI over a move like that.

All non-hero mechs need to eventually be available to the public. Plus the Mad Dog really isn't all that good.

if you want to feel special, just roll around in your $360 Mad-Dog Prime(I) eventually it will be like seeing a (P) or a (F) model or the even more rare (G)

EDIT: i know we're getting forum badges for Man'o'war pack, will we get Mad-dog badges?

that is a strange way to think

The prime (I) maddodg is already unique by the unique geometry it has and the unique camo.
Further, for those who bought both clan wave packs, the MDD is FOR FREE. so its just basically another free goodie. I see no real reason why it should stay an exclusive mech. You still have the cooler looking geometry one.

It would make it inaccessible for the many people who love clan mechs, but who have been sitting on a pile of cbills and aren't inclined to flash real cash again until PGI flashes some cash by demonstrating that they're actually paying real people to make new maps and implement new features.

I bought a stormcrow ala carte and a kitfox package for cash, and that's pretty much the last money I plan on spending on this game until something interesting would compel me to indulge further.

I suffered through over half of the Phoenix pack being garbage, and didn't buy the big clan packs...lo and behold, several of the clan chassis are great, and the rest are mediocre or terrible. *Not shocked*

I'll probably buy Lokis for cbills when they come out. I'm working on my cbill summoners now, because timberwolfs are too easy.

I own one but... NO WAY!

I love this game and that is a horrible idea. I would rather see hero mechs unlockable for GXP than see any entire mech chassis series available only for $$$$$. I mean I pay it to support the game, but if I HAD to in order to experience mechs I liked I would quit.

I give hero mechs a pass because there is nothing particularly special about them generally, they typically are just a slight variant of the others.

The Mad Dog isn't a hero mech. It is one of the most common and iconic Clan mechs out there.

This, this I own it and dont care that a lot of people will be buying it for cbills. I think no chassis should be locked behind a pay wall plus if it would be people would scream p2w, not saying it is, but people love to scream p2w whenever they can.

Founders and any other players who own any kind of mech and don't think that anyone else should have it, because they want to feel special and have a little VIP club, can all collectively *************. I know exactly what you mean, and I do feel the same pangs of greed when I see new Star Citizen backers being able to buy my ship that was supposed to be limited edition, or when new backers get the lifetime insurance that was only promised to veteran backers.

But then I tell myself to get some perspective and not be a greedy ****.

Why the hell should I care if more people around the world have the same digital robots and spaceships as me? How does that really deprive me of joy? How sad would my life be, if I was saddened by the fact that others could share the same awesome mechs and ships that I have? Especially, and this is important, when those people are supporting the game I enjoy playing.

We all share the same dreams and aspirations. We're all united by our love of mechs. I now own several mechs with unique geometry, and soon I may even own some unique variants that wont be available to others. I dont mind sharing any of it. Let's not be greedy and deprive others of joy.

That's why I'm thrilled to see that Star Citizen, at least, promises that everything that can be bought for real money now will be available for purchase in-game later. Even the most expensive ships will be available for C-bill equivalent, for both old and new players. That's awesome. Pay 2 Play.

Words cannot express how much of a bad idea I feel the OP's is.

Therefore I shall say only this.

NO.

Honestly, I think the reward should be a much fancier paint job (something along the lines of reward cent, much more detailed and such, maybe.... gold?) for the prime reward chassis.

After thinking about it for a sec I think OP should get slapped with a 10kg ham for this stupid thread.

I think unique variants should stay unique.

I do not think entire chassis should stay unique. Especially not the fakkin Mad Dog, one of the most beloved Clan chassis ever...
