It was last night, in a random skirmish match in River City.

You were piloting a TDK wielding a (ER)PPC. You weaved between buildings, appearing on one side of the map, then on the opposite side of the battlefield a few moments later. You were sniping, annoying, pecking, unnerving, irritating me and others with skill and grace. For the first time since I began playing MWO during closed beta, I found myself thoroughly annoyed, scared, and respectful of a light pilot. Sure, there'd been plenty of times when I was annoyed or scared or respectful of a light pilot, but never all 3. Although I never got to take note of your name, your skills in the TDK will be remembered. And feared.

I truly believe piloting a light mech in MWO today is "hard mode". Those who regularly manage to fulfill their role as scout, light skirmisher, spotter, sniper, hit-n-run guerilla fighter - I salute you and your wily tendencies. Keep up the good work and may you suffer indigestion from eating my UAC5 shells and LRMs. You know they are delicious.

I wouldn't call it hard mode. But it sure isn't easy.*

i just have to ask what mech were you in that this TDK was a threat with 1 ppc?

Only situation that build is dangerous is if you are already almost dead and as you said to annoy. It is also very map reliant as to if its any good. River city i'm actually surprised it was an issue plenty of places to park yourself so they would have to expose themselves to a alpha in order to attach you. But good for them though :) nice to see a TDK still being used.

I think I may have ran into this person too. They were piloting using a TDK on River City Night. Their aim wasn't so good when I was watching them, but ehh, everybody has a bad match. Not that they were even bad, their aim just hovered around 50% with the ERPPC while being less than 400m away from the target.

This is why the F12 key will save an instant screenshot to the default directory.

Seeing someone who has found their center within a mech is always a beautiful thing to see.

A good pilot is always a threat. A good pilot in a mech they're comfortable with? I don't care if that mech is a Locust, they're dangerous.

Well, it wasn't me, I prefer quad MLs on my TDK:

Salute though, fellow 'Mando pilot - let's keep scaring, annoying, and making the fatties respect us! :)

Wasn't me either,

I prefer Triple meds and a single PPC and it doesn't zip anywhere.

Light pilots keep patting their backs for being so leet, well ya lag shields, bad hit boxes, bad HSR, these are all leet skills used by light pilots.

When was the last time you took a Light mech?

Perhaps specifically a Commando?

You know, I was thinking of grinding one of my Commandos with the ERPPC. Sounds like even more fun now :D

I'm probably not epic-good like OP's nemesis, but I think I'll run it anyway for lulz while grinding. May as well have some fun along the way, right?

It's not easy runnin' light and fast. My hat's off to those who do it well.

1 PPC will strip you of 10 armor points on your back torso or side torso, it's not about how much damage he deals but how much he makes you vulnerable. It's not cheesy like the dual ppc cda used to be but it's still a threat easily ignored for the worst.

It will remove most rear armour of mechs in two volleys, and full crit damage would likely be applied on the second shot.

That FLD advantage. You have the chance to lose weapons the second that armor lets go.
