Yep, he just started updating.

Interesting change and I have to say I like it. Looks like a quirk for a weapons group and then a stacker quirk for more specific weapon in that group they feel fit the role of the mech.

No. I was mislead by the title too. He's only announcing the changes to the Quirk pass, and the new pack. (http://mwomercs.com/...esistance-pack/)

Nothing else is happening today. I thought we were getting the full list of quirks too.

You guys do realise the quirks are covering up systemic problems rather than *balancing*.

eh, cheer up, this is a huge improvement. alot more buffs to general customization, but still benefits the builds that the mech feels best with. we just won't know the whole scope until later

also...NEW MECHS!!!! who isn't excited about that?

freaking panther guys....the muddy fluffing panther....

I also thought the quirks were going to help balance the mechs more with the Teir 1 mechs. So rather than being incentive to try to get people to diversify the builds, we should be promoting the builds that do work.

For the Jester for example, if it only gets 2 quirks, I would have suggested more like, increased jump thrust/increased jump height, since it only has 2 JJ. I don't really see many jesters, and the ones I do don't run LL...They run med lasers, ppc or in some cases LPL's, with some AMS.

The quirks should enhance what makes a mech good rather than try to force diversity onto a chasis that isn't typically configured that way in practice. I see they favor the stock loadouts, but many of the stock loadouts aren't competitive. (stock ember anyone?) So why give quirks to a configuration that's not competitive, under the guise of balance?


Because the Hoverlander currently do not have JJs, they have blue flame effect generators

Wrong topic? This topic is about getting the list, not "Is quirks a good/bad thing?"

The Jester arguably falls into that category now as well. With the JJ nerfs, it's height was reduced considerably. Took mine out for a spin the other day and was hard enough not to use all my fuel just to go up a small ridge on Forest Colony. Worse than the Hoverlander was before the nerfs.

TL;DR: Mechs still have weapon specific buffs, but using a different weapon of the same type will give you half of the buff.

Basically, specific weapon quirks are going to give half their bonuses to the general category. So a hunchie AC20 quirk gives half the bonus to all other ballistics, for example.

The update was not the whole list like I was hoping but it appears to be for the better. I like the way the revised quirk system will work.

So much happening in the near future, it is exciting!

Great thinking on PGI/Russ's part. They are trying to make both camps happy. General and specific bonuses.

So if Tier 5 is 25% and Tier 4 is 20% then Tier 1 is 5%?

Anyway, I look forward to the return of Atlas pilots that rock the AC/20.
