So I have been informed that A la Carta doesn't count as a pack, but a mc purchase. Is this true? And why the **** would some one set it up like this? I want my special 1st anniversary Atlas....

Because that is what you are really doing. By being able to cherry pick what chassis you get instead of being bound by the pack size you are really just getting an MC 'Mech purchase before it is available for MC.

So buy a cheep clan pack, like the $30 kit fox or Mist Lynx...

I'm getting an Atlas and King Crab, that I am not likely to use, as I don't drive IS mechs...

That is how you get the king crab.

The Atlas is any pack, even the smallest clan pack ($30) counts for it.

Actually for the Atlas is just any package. King Crab is the top tier one.

Anyways, OP, you may want to consider using the upgrade feature they developed some time ago. In my case it was fairly cheap to upgrade to the top package. Aside from that you may consider the recently announced IS deal in which the smallest package is $20.

OP, you WILL get the Atlas-S if you purchased Ala Cart mechs, or Pre Order Packs of any Tier, and the CN9-AH if you've bought MC ever.

As far as I am aware you do. Those are tacked to the pre-order offer so are good for any clan pre-order purchase. A la carte fits the pre-order part, but not the package, hence why it would be treated as an MC purchase and still count towards the pre-order bonus for clan Omnis.

Were are you finding the new packs? I haven't seen them yet, only concept art in threads.

Well the post about it says this about la carte mechs.

"This reward is for players who have purchased any pre-sale program package. This includes any level of Founders, Phoenix, Clan Invasion Wave1 and 2 packages, or a la carte mechs. Eligible players will receive an exclusive new Atlas variant - the AS7-S - decked out with a custom paint job, along with a 30% C-bill Bonus and a free Mechbay. This custom AS7-S variant will only be available through our Pre-Sale Reward program and will be injected into eligible accounts on October 21st. You have until Sept 23rd at 10:00 am PDT to earn the Pre-Sale Reward. Standard versions of this new variant will be available for C-Bills at a future date to be determined."

So unless they are going back on what they promised then jus getting one la carte mech would get you the atlas that's coming out.

This. I have had a very long day and just assumed the OP was told so by customer service instead of being intelligent and asking if they had.
