What The Heck Is With The Fixed Jumpjets All Of A Sudden?

if you cannot understand that the mech is basically god mode unless u suck, then u lack grey matter, and IT STILL IS THE BEST HEAVY IN THE GAME.. get over it you still have 25+ tons on the twolf prime/C with 2 "S" side torsos, a hell of a lot better then us poor Summoner piliots have, and your survivability is ridiculous.

Out of my top 7 Timberwolf builds, all of them had easy minor changes to keep the build intact. I think I had to buy one new side Torso that was not an S. If you are too cheap or whiny to be willing to fix things for yourself, than that is a sad state of affairs.

Not ashamed to admit I do suck in it atm so have to practice more with it. Also if it was god mode I would have not died in it soo much but then again I did say I sucked in it so oh well. I think the underlying anger is coming from not the fixed JJ but from making the clan mechs a bit less customizable than the IS. You can removed the JJ from any IS, hell you can even swap the engine. According to lore the IS mechs were supposed to be extremely hard to modify. Hence why omni technology was so revolutionary. I feel this is where most of the anger stems from not just the " oh I can't put the glass cannon in that torso anymore. "
I could be wrong but I know that is were my ranting is coming from. Anyway still going to play just going to be a bit smarter on what I buy going forward.

I paid more for clan mechs because they are supposed to be omni and more customizable. With this latest patch, more builds are not playable competitively because they are either forced to carry jets, or the weapons are lower slung leading to having to exposing your mech much more than I.S. mechs have to. This means clan mechs soak much more dmg in tournaments and regular matches.
This matters a lot because clan mechs lack as many pin-point weapons as I.S. mechs do and with the erppc heat penalty increased and regular srms doing a wider spread, the clans are handicapped even more.
Please allow all clan mechs to remove Jump-Jets or give us more omni-pods with the same of more hardpoints the JJ pods have and put the weapon value changes back to last patch so we can build competitive mechs. Thank you for taking this into consideration.

The Summoner and now the TBR-S are ruined by the fixed jump-jets which do nothing, they don't even carry the mech over a low hill. I think you should balance these mechs in a more fair way if that is actually needed.
I play Clan and Inner Sphere mechs and I do not see any balance issues with the Timber Wolf. What I think is going on is the Timber Wolf is the most popular and diverse mech and that is why it is used so much. Because it is used so much it has an enormous legend of being the great reaper of mechs because, when skilled players are using one they are likely winning, but would also be winning in a Jagermech and you didn't put fixed jump-jets on the Jagermech, right?
I easily beat Mad Cats with Inner Sphere of similar weight, so you, PGI, are just not testing enough before you release these mechs or make sweeping changes to them. Slow down with the nerfs so they actually fix something that needs fixing. This one just alienated half or more of your paying customers. It didn't fix anything, in fact I think it just obscures what might need fixing.
That brings us to the Thor. Remove the fixed jump-jets. The Thor in no way compares to the Cataphract or Jagermech or even the Hunchback to be honest, certainly the Shadowhawk carries a larger loadout and moves like a snake by comparison. It is not fair to give the Inner Sphere mechs a completely Open Mechlab while the Clan omnimechs get a Closed Mechlab, which is essentially so since you are only allowing the standard change-outs that Omnimechs are able to do in the field. You have to allow some Mechlab changes to allow an actual balance between Clan and Inner Sphere to be possible. Or give the Thor the movement quirks of a Medium and make it 25% tougher to make up for the tiny weapons payload.
Please give me back my Timber Wolf S. I refuse to use your 3PV pop-tart jump-jets. They are not jump-jets, which when you get 4-5 equipped should at least carry any mech over a low hill. If they can't do that what purpose are they? Pop-tart.

The way they have nerfed ERPPCs and SSRMs and DHS 1.4, I am not sure the D would even work. MWO logic states that AC's are okay to boat and be OP, but everything else gets the nerf-bat. Somehow we just have to convince PGI to allow all jump-jets to be removable. The Summoner in MWO is a total joke. A 70 ton heavy brawler with 20 tons of payload space. Absurd. Is there a word for Clan Mech phobia?

JJs are supposed to be pod-mounted, just like any other piece of equipment besides the standard structure of an OmniMech.
For balance reasons, i absolutely agree that some restictions must be put in place, and i have always been more of a fan of restrictions than wild customization freedom. However, JJs were fine as they were imho, equippable only with the S omnipods. Another way of balance could have been making the OmniPod quirks worse, but now this has forced me to lose firepower or heat management.. After the recent change of heat generation after a side torso loss (it is not very noticeable imho but we are starting stacking too many things..). It feels that IS 'Mechs are more customizable every patch compared to Clan 'Mechs. Back in the day, i used to not believe this but now we are going too far ..

I PAID for what I could do when I purchased the timberwolfs., not for random mandatory configurations down the line or at the whim of a programmer.
+1 to the BS call...
Check the ToS small print, since you have paid for this. And it is as a result of needed balance changes not whimsical notions.

People For Fixed JJ - People that get pwned by an awesome build.
PGI's Situation - There are more incompetent n00bs than skilled warriors. n00bs cry for sweeping balance because they can't handle adapting to a scenario. Hence, majority rules.
Grand scheme, I didn't pay for mechs that were as good as any trial mech.

Why does PGI have to nerf anything in the first place? Why couldn't they make everything else better so that no one had to lose anything?
Oh right, cause that would be more work, and this is PGI we're talking about.

I for one am glad that they brought the TB into line as it was ridiculously overpowered before and is still the premier heavy mech.
Additionally, you all signed the agreement that PGI can change ANYTHING, including to dropping the game and shutting down servers, and you won't get any money back. Read the fine print before buying.
"Hello sir or madam, this is Car Company X. Remember that neat sports car you purchased from us several months back? The one with 600 horsepower and a sport suspension? Well, people who bought different models have been complaining that your car is just too fast. Also since were making NEW models, and want people to buy them, we've taken the liberty of breaking into your garage and removing a piston or two from your engine, as well as equipping mattress springs. It should produce around 400 horsepower now and handle like a shopping cart. You should of course be happy, because that's still a VERY fast car. Since we put up a notice about it on the outside of our dealership (a place which you rarely go), as well as have a line about modifying it without your permission buried somewhere in the contract you signed to get the car, you and anyone else who purchased it have no right to complain about anything. Ever. OH and by the way! Come check out our NEW model of sports car! IT COMES WITH 600 HORSEPOWER AND A SPORT SUSPENSION!"
