Anyone Notice A Difference In Game Play Since The Patch?

I only got to play about 10 matches last night, and it might be my imagination, but game play seems different to me. It seems like my mech can take noticeably more punishment AND I can actually hit other mechs more easily. I didn't have a single match where I was cored out by someone I never saw. Not one match where I lost an arm and side torso to the first enemy volley. No...damage seemed to accumulate at a reasonable rate to the hits I took.

I hope this isn't just my imagination because play in general seemed a lot more fun.

Am I just imagining things?

Maybe related to the improved hit registration? Seems like that might have changed how much/little damage connects.

Its because all the assaults are fatlases and they don't have a big burst unless you are under 270m from them.

I still got cored a few times last night, 3 gauss dire wolves were out and they hurt.

whatever it's only been years now

anyone making changes that are positive isn't a member of the original "team" that fought with each other more than the mechs they were creating did

Yeah, now that I think about it the atlai are probably having a bigger effect than improved hit reg.

Hit detection should be better now. Russ said the server tick rate was way below what it should have been, which would account for damage being registered in bursts to the same location.

But "fun" isn't allowed in this game. You should be rending your garments and gouging out your eyeballs because the rewards are slightly different now. Quit the game, set your computer on fire, and go picket outside PGI's headquarters.

I spotted two Steiner Scout Lances yesterday in two consecutive matches. I think it's more the abundance of Atlases than hit registration.

The Atlas is a much closer range platform than the typical Dire Wolf is. Still horribly painful at that close a range, though.

Everything is a million times smoother with post AA turned off.

That's the biggest improvement I've noticed thus far.

I have noticed running my narcing Raven which only gets like... 50-200 damage a game is now my highest earning mech I have. So there is that :P

Yep. RVN-3L with Narc+TAG makes me an average of 250-400k now, even with a loss. I only bring 2xML and get 100-400 damage without arty. It's now my go-to c-bill printer.

The side effect of this is that many people are noticing this and bringing more Ravens. I may have to dust off some light hunters to deal with this new spam.
