The non AC20 arm on the new Centurion actually has a buckler strapped to it.

It would be nice to have the Large Shield to absorb damage. The Large Shield has its own Armor Points. So, gives more effective Armor to the Arm that has the Shield mounted on it.

Yep.
If PGI added the Hatchetman or Axman, but never was going to implement melee, I wanted them to attach the axe to the outside of the forearm and have the blades act as a shield covering the back of the hand and wrist.

Well they're good mechs even without melee, but their weapon loadouts are a bit bland by MWO standards.

All of the mechs come with shields. The left and right arm make great shields. Some are better than others.

The shields are also included on your teammate's torso, legs, and head!
