Perhaps I'm alone with this opinion, but for me as a strong Inner Sphere Advocate, I think I have to realize, this resistance package is not able to counter the clan waves.
We will lose and in doing so we will not only look ugly (badges), but also sound awful instead of awesome.

Of course there are the 4 hero mechs + 8 standard
But the faction content is really what makes this worth it:
6 custom faction skins for each (I've even messed with the colour schemes a bit so that they don't immediately resemble the faction they come from, since I mostly play lone wolf)
18 colours (from faction content) + 3 resistance colours (red, white, black) = 21 colours! All colours would likely be in the 1000 MC (~$4) range if purchased at full price since they are very vibrant colours. So you could say we got $84 WORTH IN COLOURS ALONE.
+ Warhorns etc.
Even though I never thought I'd be paying for an $80 mech pack, after spending around $400 on MWO this is the most bang for my buck.
P.S. Unfortunately my Resistance pack was ordered about a week TOO SOON to qualify for a second set of the (L)oyalty mechs, otherwise that would have been even MORE value added.

Of those 12, 4 are the ® ones that cant be changed anyway. That is 6 sets of patterns/colors for 8 mechs,
Will this be fixed or will we have to pay again when they are released in the store to put Davion pattern on my Atlas.

Colors can be applied to all all 'Mechs, only the patterns are limited. I imagine they'll start implementing the faction patterns for other Inner Sphere 'Mechs over the next year or so.

Colors are always a global unlock. Patterns are never a global unlock.
They won't give you patterns for non-Resistance mechs for free because it costs money to make them. You'll have to purchase the pattern for your Atlas when it becomes available. I've already purchased the Davion pattern for my King Crabs.

I'm pleased with all the base modeling of all the 'mechs with the notable exception of the Enforcer's chipmunk cheeks.
The Resistance skin was never shown to us in concept, and isn't a great pattern. I don't mind the bullet holes (I wish they'd just made than an overlay to the Faction pattern for the R variants) but I dislike the 'splash' paintwork. The best you can do is attempt to make it look like a lazy camouflage pattern.
Those Faction patterns are uniformly good, with the mild exception that I do wish PGI would stop layering in locked sub-channels of purple or blue glitter. These are supposed to be military machines, not children's toys, and I really don't care to 'sparkle' on the battlefield. At least let us turn them off. The faction patterns would be better if we could use them on the R machines, of course.
Special Geometry is underwhelming and would be better off removed entirely.
The warhorns are embarrassing. The rest of the cockpit items are just the usual clutter.
I'm considerably less impressed with Resistance than I was with Phoenix. If future IS packs have the quality of Resistance, I won't be buying them.

As said colors on everything...
PGI had stated plans to release faction patterns as CW rewards at some point in time. It's on the "Launch Party CW" look, thing...yeah.
The faction patterns acquired through the Resistance Pack are specified as exclusively for the Resistance mechs you acquired.

Those take just space in my mech bay. I removed all equipment so I can clearly distinguish them from my routine mechs. -.-" But good to know that at least somebodys jelly about them.

All these features talked about in 2013 and we have like exactly one only implemented.
Im glad that PGI work on new mech packages and not these features promised nearly 2 YEARS ago...

Yep. I can understand some of the troubles they're having but the way they did things they backed themselves into a wall which will make it hard to implement a number of those features.

The past was bad and we all know it, but we can't change the past.
Look at the present and the future and let the past mistakes be a lesson, but don't blow it up to be more than it was.
And remember, they can't just make everything happen that they or we want in no time. It's a lot of work that will always take time to implement and more to balance.
