I think this will be the "money mech"; at least in regular matches. The Zeus may shine inCW with tonnage limits, but the current weight class matching leaves what amounts to an Awesome 2.0 somewhat lackluster.

However, the Grasshopper. At 70 tons, its a solidly heavy... Errr, heavy. Even just a single JJ for hill climbing is always valuable.

The grasshopper looks narrow, which would give it a great leg up vs. the cataphract. I figure the Grasshopper will be a pretty popular IS heavy.

As to builds... Well, depends on quirks, but I'd go out on a limb and predict laser vomit. I know, its a stretch, but... I think I may have something there.

The 5J basically replaces the Jester given it's limit on 2 JJs and the thrust changes have seriously hampered it compared to how it was before. In addition, it can basically field a comparable sized engine with more weapon slots and JJs to boot.

Curious what the torso and arm twist info will be.

Looks good ... depends on Hitbox i think .... but with the new JJ Buff ... looking forward to.
the only thing i think could be a Problem ... the low torso mounted Hardpoints.

CT has 2 energy slots plus head missile slot? Hell yes! Best zombie Heavy ever.

I suppose dual AMS is a nice niche, for similar variants. It can also zombie.

DoA my foot.

This sucker looks very nearly like a direct competitor to the Summoner, which is only seen as horrid because the Timber Wolf is so vastly superior to everything it. Six jets would make it nimble in the air, six energy slots plus FaceMissiles gives it enough armament to strike with, and it can go big STD with Endo/Ferro to make itself into a phenomenal zombie.

Certainly it's not going to be T1, but I could potentially see the 5J, at least, making it up to T2, hitbox dependent of course.

Well, also recall that the concept art isn't entirely indicative of the final modeling. Exhibit A: Highlander twig arms. They might well end up slimming the thing down some.

Or fattening it up, of course. And making it taller than an Atlas. One never knows with those guys. >_>.

Hopefully the concept art is showing CT energy hardpoints, and hopefully any torso mounted energy are mounted higher.

It would be kind of funny (not funny "ha ha") if they were all mounted at the waist, because outside of boating MOAR MLAS, the CTF-3D would actually end up being the better energy sniper/ridge humper with JJs over a mech designed around energy weapons.

Just so long as it isn't "55 ton size".

Well, yeah, though that depends on your definition of better.

Ridgehumper? CTF gots it licked. For brawling (hitbox dependant, of course), gonna be tough to say.

Unless the Jester gets it's torso yaw in line with the other catapult models, this sorta invalidates it.

Other than that, i like.

There never was a point to the poll. Russ (I think) did say that theyd already done all the work on the Grasshopper in that thread

I'd like it's JJs brought in line as well.

Brawling could be close between them (hopefully), but those hitboxes will need to be excellent to rival this or this for brawl versions of CTF-3D.

well, with a name like Grasshopper, Im hoping it gets some good turn, speed, and jumping quirks to make it the ultimate heavy blade runner.

I'd be perfectly happy with a Shad sized GHR. Once I survived focused fire from 6 different mechs in my Shad after landing on a bad spot, with a lot of TT and JJ pimping. I was using XL engine too.
