I had a thought a while ago and folks seemed to dig it, so here it is:
Move all dead players to a separate chat channel.
This has the following benefits.
No more "Team Treason" (giving out co-ords on a live player to the other team)
No more bullying and belittling from guys that are dead and of no further use to the match.
That might make the game SLIGHTLY more friendly for newer players.
It won't affect TS or Mumble or whatever, but at least the players won't have team chat spammed with bad sportsmanship.
I haven't been playing that long but holy **** can the ghosts gripe!
Let's say NO to whiny ghosts!
Discuss.

No thanks, then I can't strategize with my team and I'd have no reason to stick around after I die.

1/ unlike other first person shooters, when your mech is destroyed you don't die, you can still talk in an ejection pod.
2/ chat from ejected pilots can be helpful to the team. (advice how to win, damage to enemy, number & type of enemy, enemy ambushes 'where I got killed', enemy movements 'last seen', battle overview reports info progress, where help is needed)
3/ premade teams that use voice chat will have an even bigger advantage over random pugs, if escape podded pilots cant report on ambushes & hidden ECM mechs.
4/ if the last member is refusing to fight it can be 10minits failed hunting for a shut down mech that has broken the rules on sportsmanship. (by failure to participate)
5/ you are playing with real people, not cannon fodder meat shields, remember this. (if you team kill you will hear about it, and I feel that is right)
6/ I do agree that ('dum a$$', 'your an idiot'+'no your an idiot', 'my team sucks') are not helpful, but constructive criticism like ('stop shooting me in the back', 'don't stand right behind other players because if they cant fall back and get killed they will blame you', 'why didn't you attack like the rest of us?') are justified criticism.

So long as the dead can also chat with the live and also so long as the live can mute the dead.

We don't need a separate channel for the dead.
We need a selective /ignore feature just like most MMO's have that will allow us to quiet the poor sports, while retaining the ability to assist the team.

What we need is to disable the dead's ability to chat to the enemy team.
