Hi guys, I was talking to some of the folks in my unit just now and one of them asked if we would ever be able to buy mechs etc from eachother. Sadly, I had to tell him that as far as I knew, PGI had ruled out the concept of any transfer of funds from units to players, therefore in my opinion it was highly unlikely that they would allow such a thing to occur..
However.. What if we had a commission based system effectively the same as the XP for GXP mechanic that we have now? Where you buy a Unit Credit for your MC at whatever price and then that allows you to transfer funds, buy items from players at your own negotiated prices (capped or it wouldn't work for PGI) for say, max 7.5m/10m Cbills per mech or whatever..?
This provides us with a real economy which I think would be more realistic and a big boon, plus give a real role for mercenary corps and also provides PGI with a fresh marketing stream.
Was wondering if we could discuss this before I put it to the Comstar Focus Group??
Cheers guys!
Ps... No idea why they deleted my post about getting reported. I thought it was a good post for us all to look at, but if I offended PGI, I apologise..

They deleted it Nick because it is against the rules of conduct to post on here about being warned or actions taken against you for your questionable conduct.

Damn... okay, so I did upset them again.
I'm guessing they know I did it in good taste, but hey, bit disappointed as I wanted us to get something positive out of it. Oh well...
But anyway... Economy??

@OP: Your proposal with negociatable prices on assets or infrastructure for MC is then still RMT that could encourage farming and bias CW efforts with PTW philosphies, hence PGIs reluctance to offer such capabilities.
Since they already have provided C-bill bundles for MC then that capability is there to assist the more casual play style.
Unsure if any "supply and demand" model for buy/sell variance would work with the populations we have with any future designs PGI have for a player regulated economy, but that in itself would be useful to see aswell as any influencing factors with loyalty and factional allegiances associated with the outcomes of CW game play. But a "player" regulated free market that utilises any MC transfer is dodgy ground imho.
