Yes, I am Davion and I say we need more Clans! But like this:

Create a second map that includes the Clan Homeworlds and the Pentagon Worlds. Put this map into contestation just like the IS map. Only IS factions cannot "attack" this map until the appropriate time in lore.

Speaking of lore, since MWO wants to "write it's own history", let the clans duke it out in this new map like we duke it out in the IS.

And maybe even say once a faction reaches some level of superiority, they gain the right to attack this map for x weeks/days/hours.....

Why?

I know people who want to be clans that aren't currently represented, this would allow that.
The IS will eventually get there anyways so might as well build it now.

Thoughts?

The Clan worlds are actually on the IS map right now. If you scroll up you'll see a green circle, zoom in there and you'll see Clan planets including Strana Mechty.

True, but it's a bit.... Incomplete.

I'm just offering a suggestion. :)

I'm thinking they may be thinking what you are thinking.

Although, the Clans don't really duke it out the same way the IS does, at least not until later. I'm not sure the clans were really doing much in fighting at the start of the invasion.

I know when some of the extra clans were brought to the invasion they started raiding the other clans, but I don't think there was much of that back home. Aside from the normal low impact trials.

While I generally agree with you, MWO is going to rewrite history as it were. Plus you got the Trials of Position for the invasion in the first place. Plus, I don't know the lore behind the additional 3 Clans entering the invasion, but I am sure there were trials for those positions as well.

Thats what I mean by low impact trials. When the Clans want to steal your top secret weapon they just found out you were developing they challenge you to a trial of possession and bidding brings the forces down to a very small number. As opposed to IS who wage wars that are so destructive that they are now actually less technologically advanced than when the Star League left.

I suppose we could have fights to represent those trials but I think the invasion would have the Clans more unified than usual back home. As for the clans added to the invasion later (Diamond Shark, Nova Cat, Steel Viper, I think there was a fourth that was supposed to activate.) they did raid their allies a fair bit because they were late to the party and hungry to increase their holdings, but that happened in the invasion corridors.
