Just wondering if there's anyone here that used to play MechCommander online. By online, I mean Mplayer, Star Lance, and the occasional MS gaming service when Mplayer used to go down.

Yeah, played MC on the zone a ton, I loved it. Just dug up my old copy of it and ran through a decent amount of the campaign for kicks.

MC was the first serious game I ever played online (Mplayer aka "Mpig"), met a lot of good people I still talk to today. I don't think I will ever be part of a community like that again. Lost touch with some of those people and hope this revives Mechwarrior and brings some of them back.

"The Zone" Only played there when mplayer was down. Was always interesting, ever been somewhere or some place that you should'nt be... and you get stares..... well that was how it felt sometimes when the "Mplayers" went to "The Zone"

Used to play MC1 heavily

Used the name Wicked_King, for most of the time I was Clan Jade Falcon on Starlance and Clan Diamond Sharks on TFS

Played the hell out of MC, MCG and briefly played the bastardized version that Microsoft called Mechcommander 2 under the handle RimShot. :\

Active in both TCL and SL.

Was never able to get the online to work, my internet at the time seemed to always want to kick me away, but was very much one of the better games out there

I honestly did not even have internet back then; although I certainly played the hell out of MC1 and MC2. I remember that day very clearly, I purchased the "Mechwarrior Pack" of MC1, MC2, MW3, and MW4 from a GameStop (remember when they sold PC games?) for 20 dollars about 10 years ago. Such memories.

Played MC on m player all the time. Went under the name BS-Latteral. my brother was BS-Sith, And ran around alot with Bender, Draconis, popthemech. Just all the ones i could think of off the top of my head.

I loved starlance CBBR rules. BTw your right there might never be a community like that one, but i pray this one will come close. meet you all on the battlefield soon enough. Good Hunting.

Mechcommander 1 and 2 are some of the best Mechwarrior games I've ever played.

I didn't even have internet for the first MC, though I played it religiously. I did play MC 2 online though, getting fully involved in whatever the league was at the time, hitting top score in the league one month under the name Timber3050, and made my own maps (something I do for any game I purchase which comes with a map editor). Good times.... Good times...

My first foray into online competitive play, started out as BT_VoodooChild, that's the game where I got my callsign BT_ThundrGod. My company mates started calling me "God of Thunder" because I was an expert at dropping game ending arty strikes. Damn I loved that game.

I used to part of the MC2 modding team on a site known as the "Mech Lab". It's all ancient history now, everybody lost interest and moved on. I think there's a guy on the site http://www.dropshipcommand.com (who was our main 'rival') who still messes with MC2 and has done some amazing things with it.

Then Erwiin is partially to blame for me losing so much free time to MC2. Thanks buddy. :(

But yes, I'm both old and used to play mech commander.
