Ok I would like to state that I consider myself an average pilot. I do not expect to make the top 15 on leaderboards. So this isnt someone complaining about how he cannot make the grade.

However the scoring system for the leaderboards does disappoint me because as a game that often talkes about role warfare.....the current scoring rewards nothing but the damage dealer.

Match score and how cbills and xp are added up are pretty good regardless of what role you play you can make decent progress on both. So my question is why is NONE of this reflected on leaderboards?

I doubt this change would place me any higher on the boards, that is not the object of this post. However I would like to see some changes to the scoring system on the next leaderboard style challenge to reflect that scouting, spotting, tags, captures, base defence kills, ECM disruption (I still think there should be a reward for covering allies with ecm), capping.....all kinds of other things that can give you a solid match score get some credit. Winning is not just about the kills sometimes, or at the least getting the kills is alot easier with those support elements, that are getting no credit.

Right now the guy in the back with the lrm 70 is getting all the credit for damage and targets he would not have even had.....if it wasnt for the light or brawler that were engaged putting themselves at risk to get that lock.

This is not a nerf lrm post, many of the leaders I am sure are running other loadouts, probally mostly double or triple gauss.

It will not change my playstyle, I will continue to play support style builds as that is my strength and that is what gets me wins and cbills. I know my role, I think I am decent at it. Maybe not leaderboard caliber but I know a few support players that most definately deserve to be on there however unless they radically change their builds and playstyles will never be.

Another thing that bothers me is that a good player on a good team gets scored less than a good player on a bad team......makes no sense to me.

It might be simplest and fairest to score by some combination of C-bills and XP earned, since a great deal of work has just gone into expanding how those works and we are already trying to play in a way that maximizes that system.

These challenges are grinding as many matches as you can, to get as many kills.

There are also a dozen people on your team doing the same thing. Whoever gets that killing blow gets the high score, even if he doesn't deal the most damage.
It's a game of luck more than skill.

There should be a different scoring method. Even most damage on target isn't necessarily the best thing, but perhaps give that in itself 10 points, on top of an assist. That could help the "kill secured" thing. It would give the same score as a killing blow.

I agree, running premium time and my prime kitfox I almost always crack 200k, usually closer to the 250k mark with a few over 300k. Since the changes it seems that I am beating those numbers easily.

I just think that match score should be in there somewhere and I dislike the whole damage minus team damage divided by 15 part of the equation. As I said makes no sense to reward a good player on a bad team more than a good player on a good team.

Maybe I am misunderstanding things but from my understanding multi matches does not better your score. The score is based of of your results on your best match, or is it a total of your 10 best? Still does not change my feelings on it but I wouldnt mind some clarification.

10 best wins is what the score is based off of.

20 points per kill, 10 per assist.

I'm just surprised that they'd go with the old rules when we already revised the reward system. I do hope that the next tournaments or ladders will take into account the changes to rewards and role warfare rather than deathmatch rules.
