It'll take 33 hours at your income rate before you can afford an unmodded, vanilla daishi.

That is no longer effective... PGI removed direct fire damage bonuses with tag. Before you could get massive tag damage bonuses from yourself. No more. Removed with the most recent hotfix, stated as unintended. It does however still give you the tag kill bonus, and if you use LRMs, you still get the damage bonus.

If the late game is everyone buying Dire Wolves, count me out. That mech is so boring to fight, it almost takes the fun out of the game.
Dire Gauss cheese, or Dire UAC cheese? Take your pick! Both net you 1000+ damage rounds with minimal effort or skill!

It'll take 21 hours for him to grind out the money necessary to afford a single, unmodded stormcrow.

Always with the clan mechs... steer the players to IS! I am not looking forward to the horde of Clan Wolf players in CW.

It would take him 30 hours to amass the 16.3 million c-bills necessary to afford a geared-out atlas DDC.
19 to buy the stock DDC.

Huh? Rewards or not, people have been using TAG to coordinate focused fire since the very beginning. It's a faster way of calling targets over doing it via voice or chat.

As you go into a brawl, launch the UAV...you'd be surprised. The bonuses add up fast.
Although people may be doing it for the bonus, some do it to actually increase the brawling group's situational awareness, while at the same time giving the folks at the back line a better selection of targets for their LRMs.
Take both of these and you get "combined arms" MWO-style.

In the very beginning I seem to remember tag didn't even exist in the game. So no.
And people using tag other than reward farming and lurming are probably scrubs.

Ahem, I think farming is for real scrubs. As such, I'm not really surprised they cannot comprehend basic concepts like "combined arms" and "focused fire". Farming is the only thing they know and ever will know.
