After playing around with the raven 3l, I noticed that it's fairly effective as a close range fighter given it's two missle slots for chain fired SRMs and the cloak provided by ECM. I tested this build:
Sucker Punch V1
And found that it's fairly effective at stripping back armor off unsuspecting mechs. Am I doing it right?Constructive critism is welcome.

i go with 3ML, SRM4, Narc, ECM. Find it to be one of my favorite mechs and usually a c-bill bringer
with the XL engine you might as well leave off CASE and go for a bigger engine

Lord, doesn't it require 2 HS minimum to launch?

First off, don't use CASE in an XL mech. If the ammo goes, CASE only limits the damage to the piece of the mech where the ammo was stored. So your side torso dies, the XL blows, and you die.
Second oh god do not cut leg armor on a light. You WILL get legged and die.
I'd be pretty concerned to be brawling in an IS light that goes the same speed as a clan stormcrow. It's not like you're packing 6 clan srm6s either, so you won't drop mechs as fast as the clan brawler builds you might see can.
Personally I've found some PUG success in a mixed build with 2ML, 2 SRM2s, and an ERLL. It's running an XL280, and serves as a pretty decent scout that can also bodygaurd for bigger mechs while providing ECM. It's what your team needs, when you need it. It doesn't do solo sniping nearly as well as the 2ERLL build, but it can still be pretty handy.
For a dedicated 3L brawler, I've had some decent success with a 3MPL, 1 ASRM6 build, but I'm still hesitant to go into the same space that quirked out jenners, firestarters, and Hugins are running around in. If you go in to skirmish or try to backstab a mech and you get a 8SPL firestarter on you, know that you'll probably lose 1v1 and that you may not be able to outrun it.
