Kept sliding back after reaching 5th place because after tons of decent games I was clearly going up in ELO and getting mostly trash for teammates.
Still happy to have reached where I did but still disappointed in the matchmaking system. Always thought I was in with a shout in my 1xAC/20 1xLL Wang and 3xLL -AL.

What layout you ran on the Banshee 3E?
Too bad that the leaderboard was not broken down to each chassis variant, would have been very interesting.
Std350, 3x ac5, 4x medium laser, endo, dhs... etc. Pretty normal build for the 3E.
Should add that I am normally a medium/ heavy pilot but the Banshee is pretty fun once you get mastered and use to being slow mover.

Like most of my builds, it's a simple one. I always include AMS, I try to design around three weapon groups - the ERLL being #3, then I set up the weapons on mouse button 1 and 2 to match the side of the mech they're on (so the MLs are 1, the SRMs are 2).
I like the build because it's pretty balanced and pretty survivable. Torso-twisting, you can tank a lot of damage and if you lose a side, it's not the end of the world. The only problem is that it can't zombie up, so if you lose BOTH torsos, you might as well just go cap (if that's an option).

For me it was a combination of time, luck and skill but mostly large amounts of time playing. For my efforts, I earned 600 MC or the equivalent of 4 mech bays. Comparatively, at work I have almost unlimited amounts of overtime available and if I had spent the time working instead of playing this challenge I would have earned the equivalent of 3 gold mech packages.

My builds were almost all large XL engines, with my best being my SRM-LL brawlers VA but my protector also came out which was more of a mid range skirmisher (Also with a big XL.) The firepower was worth it, and with the new clan engine (and hardpoint) nerfs I feel that IS XL's are in a pretty good place atm.
There were a lot of kill stealers, but there were more good people. I dropped only conquest the whole weekend and it was great. I communicated with my teams and a majority worked together to win, even the matches that did not show up in the top 10 of my matches were all great. I want to say thank you to my team mates. I also kinda "forgot" to use airstrikes so my scores are mostly just me shooting folks which makes me really happy.
My only complaint is that the next tourney should score "kills most damage" higher or as high as kills since that is the real metric of who killed who and it does not reward only kill snipers and LRM boats.
Overall though, this weekend had the most mech diversity I have seen since before the clans were released which is something I have really missed. I hope pgi can keep finding ways to incentivize the dropping of all chassis. I do not just mean by using quirks. CW drop weight decks should help, but there could be more they can do. Perhaps weekly leader boards or some such that have small payouts would help?

Main reason why I picked Dragons? Been a long time since the % for heavies was so low and since my C-Bills were rather low a hero mech was a good choice. So it was either Flame or my pheonix Thunderbolt.

myself included. the difference over time was noticeable. i hit 8th place pretty easily (knocked down to 15th by the end) but then hit a wall where no one was hitting above 5-600 damage and 3-4 kills in any of the matches i played in. kept seeing the same names again and again. pretty well matched, it seemed.

I didn't really get to play again until Monday morning when I got off work. All my games were dropped with all the top leaderboard players. Did pretty bad playing against them, my Banshee was too slow to really work well with the shifting, dynamic battles that were going on -- I could stay up with the Dire Wolves but had no way of putting out the kind of damage they could due to the chassis limitation. A good damage match for me was 400+ in these games.
But they were mostly some of the more enjoyable games I've played -- groups stayed as a team, flanked, countered, etc.

Here is my best match from the tournament. While i was playing the match i was on rank 2 and it came down to me vs 5 enemy mechs and i knew if i were able to pull it off it would secure my victory in the tournament.

Unless it changes. I really didn't play the entire weekend to get the 10 luckiest matches I could. And I played all of my Orions, not just 1 of them. They all run different in terms of role and loadouts.

The tournament really raised the skill lvl in solo drops.
I kindof wish they let the losses count just like the wins, did several 1000+ dmg games that and still lost...
Gratz for every1 that managed to win!

Not bad for a middle of the road casual
I gave it a go in Kintaros because it was the chassis I thought would be the least played, that I already had mastered.
Rotated between an 5 LRM5/2 ML build and a SRM14/ERLL/2ML build, and got up to 16, but towards the end was playing the LRM build simply because I was getting better scores with it. Of the 10 best games I had, I guess 2 were with the SRM build.
Game that got me into the top 10 was last night on Mordor, but my best game was Sunday on Caustic, and it was maybe one of the best games all around I've ever been involved in, and my hats off to whoever was in that game with me. Nothing like seeing a couple of LRM boats at the end of a match, all out of ammo, and brawling with 1-2 smaller energy wpns each! Someone in an Awesome with 1 ErLL and me with 2 ML circling each other on top of the caldera for what felt like an hour. Wsh I was more tech savvy, I'd post a screenshot.
Saw a great many forum warriors as well. It was a great amount if fun
Edit - another highlight - I FINALLY won a game against Carl Avery

I ended up 7th, due to the fact that i need to go to work today and couldnt play the whole night left. It was hell of a grind and there were some points when would have liked to kick my pug teammates right in to the face when they were messing up the whole game, but at last it was funny.. ^^

Could have had higher rankings if this match was a win.
I really wanted that extra mechbay...but the MM didn't want me to...
Then there was the best NopeVa, which was ALMOST lost due to a single ML on a completely fresh Awesome LURMer.
I guess the mechbay isn't much of a loss, but it would have been enough for a 50 ton Hero at half price, rather than just the Arrow. It would have been nice...
