Think about the new functionality shutting down could have. The enemy team would be torn between destroying your mech to be certain you're dead or leaving it in the hope you're gone and they could have a great deal of scrap to sell.

I'd just push a ERPPC against your cockpit window and give you to the count of 5. When the number hits zero your mech's head gets cored like an apple. So I'd say the current mechanic works well enough.

But think of the C-Bills!

Greetings all,
With this new 'dropship' mode and having the pilots ability to 'eject',
- depending on damage state, or lack of ammo, the pilot makes the call.
What has not been identified is if these now, pilotless Mech's can actually be 'targeted'.
- Are they now shown as 'no Pilot' or some mention of 'Ejected' Pilot?
- If the Pilot is ejected then no method of function will bring that Mech back to an 'operational' state without maintenance first.
(the complete pilot chair and interface is missing)
If the indicated 'id' for the Mech shows 'Ejected' then there is no need to destroy that asset, salvage should now be the next stage that chassis see's.
- Who's salvage, will depend on which side takes the battlefield, or the location that chassis is in. This may be where some players may 'feel the need' to not leave an effective salvage chassis for the enemy. And reduce that element to basically scrap.
Just some ideas,
