I have mastered all the quickdraws. I love the variants with 2 to 3 missile hardpoints. What do you guys run on your 5k? I just don't know how to outfit this thing. I have an xl355, 5 mediums, 1 er large , full armor some JJ not sure how many off the top of my head. It works alright but just seems like it could be better.

Ive tried std engines for more durability but usually just enjoy up getting legged because I'm too slow.

Tried utilising the single missile point.... eh seems like too much tonnage for not enough return.

Tried a slower build with more firepower, too hot, too slow, not enough armor to last if its slow.

Anyone got a build for the 5k that's been working for you?

I run mine like this a lot. It's a sniper that can reposition with a quickness.

Forget the missile hardpoint on this one.

drop the STD, you'll get legged anyway. I run 4ML and 2LL, sometimes ERLL with a XL300 and no endo but you can also drop some DHS and get a bigger engine with endo. Just get around 18-20 DHS and you're good.

I change mine up regularly depending on what kind of mood Im In.

Currently Im running:

2 x PPC
2 X MPL
Full jump jets
XL 300

Most people prefer a bigger XL but I find 89.1kph (with tweak) Is plenty fast enough and allows more firepower. My most successful build was 2 x LL and 4 X MPL, It ran hot but man did It melt faces.

If you run a IV-4, you'll get a hang on "slow" quickies, still had some very good runs in speed ranges of XL275 and so on. but don't get into a false position, nothing will save you.

The most important thing is to actually use your arms as a shield, instead of taking damage to the side torsos.

As long as you don't put the strongest weapons in the arms, the arms are optimal shields... even though you'll obviously lose the benefit of arm articulation.

AND it maximizes the benefits of convergence...

I slapped a pair of large lasers in mine for some range as well as effect. I use mine as a support Mech most of the time, using the Jump Jets to help get up hillsides.

Sadly, arm lock is the "solution".

I tried many combinations of Medium and (ER)Large lasers and just got kind of bored with them.
I play about 75% of my matches in the 5k. Armor placement might be a bit off but close enough. Keep in mind many will go for your legs don't gimp them tomuch. I use Radar Dep. and Seismic on all.

These are my favourite builds.

I used the last one in the Tournament.

Or if you want a Narc version.
