Here is a quick idea for a new map, Terra Therma after terraforming!
I don't mind the map, great for tactics and teamwork. But it would be interesting to see it in daylight after terraforming. With the lava gone multilevel engagements in the crater would be interesting. Cut off the edges of the maps and people would really mix it up. My head is spinning with the possibilities.
Just an idea.

Can't terraform Terra Therma. The tidal forces acting on it and resulting volcanic activity pretty much precludes the notion.

What, is it orbiting closely to a gas giant? It's too dark and has too much atmosphere to be close to a large star, so massive orbital body is just about the only other thing that could exert such strong tidal forces on it.
Seriously, if that environment is the result of tidal forces, that planet will be an asteroid belt in no time.

From the map description:
Quote
Terra Therma is a planet-sized moon in a large, synchronous orbit around an epistellar Jovian planet. It is constantly exposed to tidal forces from its parent planet and therefore is prone to frequent volcanic eruptions and persistent tectonic activity; but, because of its large orbit, the gravitational influence on Terra Therma is not strong enough to expedite the natural degassing of primordial reservoirs of Helium-3 and Tritium. These subterranean reservoirs (of T and He-3) are what bring the fight to Terra Therma. Their value, compounded by the ease of extraction are worth the installment and regular replacement of expendable, automated infrastructure; the same has been remarked about the ‘Mechs and their pilots.

Hmmmm, yeah, wow.
That close to a star and still retaining some semblance of an atmosphere? Very odd. Also, neither of those materials exist in large quantities in nature. No use fighting over what isn't there! Unless the planet is being bombarded by neutron radiation, and has an abnormally massive amount of Lithium 6 and 7.... Neutron bombardment makes tritium, tritium breaks down in to He-3. He-3 has a half life of billions of years, but it's still reeeeeeeally rare.
I kinda liked Terra Therma damn it, but the fluff suck arse and that's all I'll think about now...

To be fair, the atmosphere we can see in the game and what the description says it should have do not align.

Maybe the star it's orbiting is a small one...perhaps the large sibling of the Jovian planet. If so, it might not put out much of a dollar wind.
Or maybe it's a remnant of a small, stellar sibling of the Jovian planet...and the source of the He and T on the moon.

It's not the solar wind I'd be worried about while trying to terraform, it's the constant upheaval of the moon's crust and the resulting stream of poisonous gasses.
What's most ironic is that, because the moon is so volcanically active, the He-3 and tritium it's supposedly valuable for should have long since been expunged.
